    Reminder about the Dhampir: the bite attack counts as a simple natural weapon, not an unarmed strike. Meaning, it can be a Monk weapon, and scale up its damage die with Monk levels, or the fun part: you can Smite with it. Also, I'm fairly certain it can become your Hex Weapon as a Hexblade Warlock. Enjoy!

    Also I came up with a reborn character but haven't had a chance to play them as of yet. Simply put they're a bard and put the 'death' into death metal, the basic backstory idea was they woke up in a cemetry along with a couple others and started an undead band until a cleric saw them and jumped the gun with destroy undead, which only he survived, talked to and explained to the cleric (who then felt really bad about the whole misunderstanding). He is now on a journey to form a new band.

The party was on a search and rescue mission, so after fighting the Kenku, we got one to surrender, and I had the pleasure of realizing that Mind Link - by the wording of the ability - would allow me to bypass the Kenku's inability to speak outside of mimicry to have a proper conversation through telepathy. You didn’t talk about it but I fell in love with shifter most recently. They used to only be able to shift once per short rest which was really situational, but now it’s tied to proficiency per long rest.
    One specific interaction is the Wildhunt shifter + Barbarian, while shifted no attack within 30 feet of you can benefit from advantage; so essentially if there aren’t ranged combatants you get reckless attack with no drawbacks 👍🏼

      Another great way for wild hunt is ranged martials or spellcasters combined with the athlete feat. Kite them and go prone at the end of your turn, if they can't catch up, they get disadvantage, if they can catch up they don't get advantage. For ranged martials I reccomend rangers with Zephyr strike (if you can somehow get it Ashardalons stride or Kinetic jaunt or for gishes like bladesingers, swords/valor bards, armorer/battle smith, eldritch knight or arcane trickster) or echo knight for a free disengage, while only spending 5ft to get back up.

    Fun trick with damphir:
    If you take the spell alter self (and your DM approves this) You can buff your bite attack to 1d6. in addition, if you can add additional damage to the attack (like Giants Might on Rune Carver for example, it could stack with the bite damage. So potentially, you could have a damphir with a bonus 2d6 + Con damage, healing or buffing yourself. (I do this maybe too often at my table)

    It might be a little less mechanically cheesy, but my favorite subclass for a kalashtar barbarian has to be Ancestral Guardian. I just love the character concept of being tied to this spirit that manifests in your body and beats up your enemies for you when you rage. A neat thing with dhampir monks is that their bite can be used as a monk weapon. Technically, you still have to use Con for the attacks since the martial arts feature allows Dex instead of Strength. If you’re lucky, maybe your DM would let you use Dex. The real benefit, however, is that your bite will increase with your martial arts die. So, either more healing or higher bonus potential as you grow in levels.
    Plus, who doesn’t want to stunning strike after a chomp?

    • @banjoskeleton8399
      @banjoskeleton8399 ปีที่แล้ว

      Better yet, kensei monks can use some (but not all) of their features to make the bite even better. Add a martial arts die to the bite, make it a magical +3, and you've got a pretty nice attack which then gives pretty big healing/bonus to a check.

    3:22 I went þo check and the first trait for any lineage says:
    Ancestral Legacy.
    If you replace a race with this lineage, you can keep the following elements of that race: any skill proficiencies you gained from it and any climbing, flying, or swimming speed you gained from it.
    If you don't keep any of those elements or you choose this lineage at character creation, you gain proficiency in two skills of your choice.
    Important part: If you choose this lineage at character creation, you gain proficency in two skill
    So no, you can not start the game as flying reborn

    Grung: I'd say there's an issue with how good the poisoned condition is here because so many things are resistant or immune to poison that you're building around an ability that'll get stuffed in time, and anything with a halfway decent con-save will eventually become effectively immune to it.

    since we were playing a campaign where a d8 was the highest hit dice of all the players, it made it much more enjoyable from a thematic perspective and meant that our only front line character wasnt instantly dead or heavily damage with little to save himself with when combat would go south. put less stress on the cleric who was the only one able to heal anyone else and allowed us alot more freedom to enjoy the game (Monk, Cleric, Warlock, Sorcerer was the party make up)
