If I was Margaret, since Bob wasn't going to do anything about his cousins, I would just have just cancelled the second honeymoon to Cheddar and went when Cookie and Melvin were gone. It is *ridiculous* that they could just invite themselves like that, family or not. They were just taking advantage of Bob's doormat personality and living like scroungers. They should have just been told to leave after a couple of days and continued to Paris like they were supposed to and explored England in their own free time. They as *just* as bad as the rest of Bob's manipulative relatives.
Funny episode. I don't understand how Cookie could complain how hungry she is after that dangerous fall. If I drop my fat ass off a cliff like her I would be too afraid to breath. =)
Considering they show rated R material like nudity and f-bombs, that was probably for the better. And it did last 4 seasons. That's pretty impressive on its own.
I'm Canadian, and trust me, not all Canadians are like Cookie and Melvin. I really prefer How I Met Your Mother's take on Canadian culture--they got all the Canadian stereotypes right (hockey, beavers, Tim Hortons, long winters, etc.), but they still presented Robin Scherbatsky, the one Canadian character, as being a strong, intelligent, and beautiful woman. In other words, that show laughs with its Canadian viewers, while this episode of Bob and Margaret just laughed AT us.
"We only have 5 channels." I remember those days.
I still remember when Britain had just 4! *Miss* those days also. There was more quality on TV then.
I saw this episode like 20+ years ago and it still lives rent-free in my head as the best parody of how annoying people act I've ever seen.
I love cookie and malvin's voices
Its just a show enjoy it.
My husband is half Canadian and he says the same thing how I met your mother is correct.
What kind of idiots just barge into a dentist office while the dentist is trying to work?

+Persephonie22 Cookie is just a brain-dead idiot.
The *very* definition of a "cretin".
these Canadians might as well be from Wisconsin or Minnesota, the way they're characterized
Maybe Cookie and Melvin are both from the States who later emigrated to Canada.
this cudo been as popular as simpsons n american dad if it hadent been showed at 4/5am in mornings

The best show about Canadians is Fugett about it. I don't know how accurate it is but it sure is funny. It's here on TH-cam too.
To me, Cookie and Melvin act more like Americans than Canadians. Whilst Larry and his family in the episode "Neighbours" were vice-versa.
