  • Nayanquing Point State Wildlife Area and Wigwam Bay State Wildlife Area offer some of the best birding opportunities in Michigan. Join MI Birds, an outreach program from Michigan Department of Natural Resources and Audubon Great Lakes, for this webinar to learn about these two wildlife areas and the birds you can find there.
Just 30 minutes apart along the western coast of Saginaw Bay, Nayanquing Point and Wigwam Bay are two of Michigan's premier Wetland Wonders and Audubon Important Bird Areas. These areas are both known for supporting large concentrations of waterfowl and shorebirds during migration, and for being home to healthy populations of vulnerable breeding marsh birds, like the Yellow-headed Blackbird and Black Tern, each summer.
Learn about the conservation work being done to help protect Wigwam Bay and Nayanquing Point and the birds that rely on them to thrive. Discover which birds visit each area, and how to take advantage of the area's outdoor recreation activities.
    Presenters will include:
    - Brandy Dybas-Berger, Wildlife Technician, Michigan Department of Natural Resources
    - Jenni Fuller, Project Coordinator, National Audubon Society
    - Kylie McElrath, Conservation Manager of Michigan, Audubon Great Lakes
