Ive been so fortunate to fly in it a few times, twice for trainng and then many times as a NHS paramedic when they needed paramedic care for patients. Amazing professionalism with the crew, sadly missed by North Devon now
Great footage despite a previous commenter’s remarks, thanks! I hadn’t really ever considered that the tail rotor could adjust its pitch, I’ve learned something!
I remember I was in Brean in Summer 2008 when the Grand Pier in Weston-Super-Mare burnt down. We were outside watching the smoke rising from behind the cliff then unexpectedly the Sea King flew very low over our holiday park on it's way to the scene of the incident. They were brilliant helicopters, I'm very glad I saw them, it is very sad they've retired now :(
Hi Jared, it visited as a guest of The Party in the Park, members of the public could then climb on board to look inside, a great pity they are all gone.
Sorry to say and with all due respect my 12 year old son could do a better job of filming this helicopter, at least he wouldn't be self indulgent with the editing or recording and actually film the entire landing, start up takeoff etc
Major health hazard for all crew onboard. Toxic fumes would enter the ventilation system plus side door from the ageing H1400-1 engine exposing the crew members to high doses of carbon monoxide for long periods. Parts of the aircraft interior would be stained yellow.
Use to see the Seaking almost everyday when it was in active service, I miss that sound

This is eleven years ago, you can’t use a light cell phone back then
