I was 9yrs old when i saw the Movie & cried my eyes out. I remember my mom saying that perhaps we should not watch the movie anymore. I said no mommy, tried to stop crying & wiped my eyes. Optimus Prime is the reason why i enlisted in the Marine Corps as an Infantryman & modeled my leadership as a Marine for 16 yrs. After the last season, The Rebirth, i stopped watching it.
@4:21 "...Unicorn!" Almost got choked with my coffee with that one 😂 and I even have to read the caption. The movie has it all (except sexual scenes, of course!), subtle jokes and comedic dialogues, horrific deaths and mutilations, dramatic scenes, amazing music, oh, let's not forget the cursing. I never saw this in the theater but I've watched it from my grandpa's Sony betamax player and trinitron TV.
Just imagine my surprise when the released a Battle Unicorn figure in Beast Machines only to find out it wasn't the planet eater! I feel sorry for that character as every time there's news of Unicron, he gets hopes of a reappearance up!
She is a good presenter, but she is too young and not a real fan. I wish they had gotten a real Transformers fan and fan of the movie. I think it would mean a lot more…
When Hasbro opted to wipe off the map on the robots in the first two seasons, which were mostly based on Diaclone and Microchange, at the time it was premiered, it was the most upsetting experience for those who watched it. On a personal note, the movie didn’t hit Hong Kong until 1988 when it was broadcasted on now-defunct Asia Television, I wasn’t really in mood as I had some of my worst years in my life, so I had a hard time of keeping my emotions in check.
This was a great video which was short & hit all the points- thank you for making it! I wasn't crying that day as I left the theater, there was a small raincloud above my head. No really I did.) Brawn & Prowl went down too easily! One of the reasons I love the Japanese Tf cartoons was that some of the characters who 'died' in the movie were back helping the Autobots. Have an awesome day!
I cried my ass off, but Hot Rod and ultimately Rodimus is my favourite Transformer and has the best story-arc in the show. Shame what they’ve done to him because of fear or a repeat of the 1986 movie
"The Transformers: The Movie" is 100% miles better than anything Michael Bay Transformer related garbage, that has been allowed to be vomited forth for years out of theaters.
I got a couple of cool Tranaformers books in Macau that I’ve never seen in English. I completely missed the movie. The jump from Season 2 to 3 was puzzling, but I thought the new bots were cool. What killed me was when Optimus Prime was brought back, just to be killed off again.
He was brought back multiple times. First as a zombie in the Return of Optimus Prime arc (where he sacrificed himself). Then he was resurrected again in the season finale, where he became the leader of the Autobots again (with Rodimus changing back into Hot Rod). In Japan, they didn't like the idea of Optimus being resurrected in this way, as they felt it diminished his previous heroic sacrifices, so they decided to kill him off again (ignoring the events of the Rebirth/season 4), and restored Rodimus to his leadership role. Eventually, Optimus was brought back in a completely new body (for the Battlestars manga), becoming a god-like Autobot.
@@Rocket1377 Half-right. The cartoon wasn't fully released in Japan yet, nor did they have the movie yet, so the anime studio didn't have much to work with when they started their own show, thus it heavily contradicted the movie, Season 3 and Season 4, leading to it being in a separate continuity.
Yes, Arcee was the first female Transformer to be designed. The female Autobots who appear in the second season of the tv show were developed after the movie, despite their episodes airing on television first.
First seeing the antagonist actually k!liing the protangonist. Also feel like Magnus's character was derailed to push Hot-Rod forward. Even to this watching I skip past Optimus death scene.
I didn’t knew there was a movie until I was in my mid 20’s; at first I was excited about watching it…it was boring and disappointing; know characters are unceremoniously disposed as an used tissue on the first part, then a new cast of stereotypes are forced into leading a story that goes nowhere, it is like the plot got lost. Sound track made me cringe, cheesy and out of place… A total mess! No wonder why the low ratings. Characters can die, but it should be purposeful to the story. In this movie most of characters killing are just because and we are left with a bunch of new characters who you could not care less and don’t seem to know what they are doing.
The soundtrack is amazing. The movie was also aimed at children, so it's no wonder you didn't enjoy it if you only saw it for the first time in your 20s. It's never going to have the same impact on an adult.
@@Rocket1377 Sure, but a "kid aimed movie" doesn't have to be a tedious badly written slog... Take one of my all time favorite films: _The Iron Giant_ ... Of course, the stakes may not be entirely the same due to the different nature of both projects themselves, but it could have been a perfectly mundane movie in the likes of _The Quest for Camelot_ (and I think it almost started like one, regarding what I heard about it), had it not been given the clear vision and love from a talented director and crew (I also don't know which parts of the scenario or dialogues were the doing of Brad Bird, or Tim McCanlies, but it never feel dull, or gratuitous.) With its Unicron(/Galactus) antagonist, some great animated action sequences, and the boldness of sacrifying Optimus Prime (although it seems it was a move more driven by greed and the idea of replacing him...), the Transformers Movie had potential to be a far better and stronger film. If only better written. I won't write about the soundtrack since I can understand your take... 😅 A movie aimed at children isn't an excuse for mediocrity, or at least shouldn't be ; and I see that kind of remarks way too often. Even if they're - obviously - more indulgent, children deserve well written stories too. Actually, I tend to think And I'm pretty sure we will all agree that TRANSFORMERS ONE is actually... a pretty damn good film, that feel a bit generic in its first half, but totally rocks in its last third. And also deliver some incredible very well directed action scenes. The Transformers movie I never thought would ever exist. And probably even less in 2024... I truly enjoyed it as an adult, and can't see how children wouldn't enjoy it as well (and tried promoting it to friends with children... not very succesfully "unfortunately"...). I hope you won't take my (long) comment as a judgment of your tastes. It comes from someone who hasn't seen it as a kid, but sincerely wish it would be a way better film, and wish I could like it, while still praising the quality of some great designs and animations. Knowing myself (I think I was already a kinda critical kid), I think I would have enjoy some actions scenes, and been moved by the death of Optimus, but left mostly bored by the rest...
I will never forget my mother crying when Prime died during the Transformers 86 movie.
Oh wow - always hear about the kids crying, but not the parents!

"The evil boss Unicorn." Say what now? 🤨🦄
Well some of them are evil, I'm just saying...

Sounds like a My Little Pony character 😅

what a great video! loved the ending as well. i really like this documentary format
We all know Megatron becomes Galvertron, but who actually becomes Cyclonus or Scourge?
Saludos Patricia, tiempo de no verte en el canal, esos G1 están geniales 😅

E' tornata Patricia!!!❤
Legit just finished this film a few hours ago Patricia 😂
I think you should’ve watched the movie too. Megatron attacked primes base
need it in traditional, can't read simplified Dx
Killing off Optimus Prime was the biggest mistake in Transformers history & the sloppy animation of season 3
Who's uni corn 🌽 😆
1 when Optimus prime died. 2nd how Michael Bay murdered them again in his reinterpretations from blocky simplistic colorful design to ugly mess
Cannot stand the Bayverse - wish it went the route of Bumblebee Cybertron intro - at least the characters are recognisable!
The "evil boss unicorn"? Wtf??
I thought i misheard and had to play back.
Where did you get the chinese version of this book?
Whatthepato!
