I left the religion then found this channel 12 years Iater. For 12 years I struggled to process all the religious trauma and isolation but couldn't bring myself to go to therapy because I had convinced myself I was overreacting. Then Lloyd popped up and it was the only therapy I needed in the end!! I finally have closure and peace, the exjw community is truly life saving!
No he is NOT therapy! But yes, what he does certainly help many of us to cope. And to a great degree i might add. Meself included. As well as my oldest son.

What a great skill to provide yet another spectacular, convention rebuttals by you Lloyd!! This year's convention is a big clarion call for Jehovah's witnesses in this cult to wake up as quickly as possible. The leaders have provided the evidence that the religious cult is on a death row.
Abraham did one of the most cowardice things in the bible. He told Sarah that she was too attractive for her to say she was his wife when they travelled through Egypt. So he had her pretend that she was Abraham's sister. Then Pharaoh gave all these riches to Abraham so he could hook up with Sarah. God started plaguing Egypt and Pharaoh couldn't understand why Abraham didn't just say she was his wife. It's a fascinating story that I had never heard until I read it straight from the bible.
Worst part about it was that Pharaoh didn't really do anything wrong (except maybe taking Sarah against her will, but that is left somewhat ambiguous), particularly when compared to Abraham, who just let Egypt suffer. Also...why does God punish the average person for the crimes of their leader alone? Sounds as if the average person doesn't actually matter to God.

If Egypt was anywhere close to the size it is today, it's practically guaranteed that a large portion of the population didn't even know what was going on, just that a bunch of plagues, ending with the death of all the firstborn they knew occurred. One thing I am noticing throughout this entire programme is the pushing of this idea that Faith= Obedience. Specifically, unquestioning obedience. They are twisting the definition to push the idea that, if you are faithful, you will just do what you are told, no matter what. Faith is not the same thing as obedience, you can still have faith in something but apply critical thought to it, tested it out fully. But they don't want that, because critical thought and questioning is where their teachings fall apart.
Ironically, in spite of the convention being called "powerful by faith", the GB are trying to convince you to give up your power by handing over the reins to them, giving them the authority and power to make decisions for you and do all of your critical thinking for you.
Same in USA. Although I do remember it was somewhat of a money grab, anyone else? There was either a stated recommended donation or my mother was just set on giving a very specific donation amount for each, and if we didn’t have the cash, we didn’t go to get the flowers. I always wanted the flowers!

Something I’ve raised with my mum, who’s still a believing witness, is on the topic which Stephen Lett touched on: The bible never needed revising. Okay, let’s say I agree. If that’s true and we have never needed a “Bible 2: More Biblier”, then why would Jehovah, who inspired a perfect writing which never needed revision, use an organisation who CONSTANTLY need revisions and go further to the point of harming children, and in fact causing Jehovah’s name to come into disrepute because of that.
There is a difference between the guys in this drama and actual apostates. Actual apostates actually find things when they investigate Jehovah's Witnesses.
Well, I mean Daniel is interesting as a figure but what we really need is an interlude targeted to the younger children. Lett would be perfect as the avuncular introducer: "In the following dramatisation, watch what happens to 42 children when they call Elisha a baldy. It's a perfect lesson for our yang wans who can meditate upon the claw-marks of a loving god."

In all seriousness, I'm surprised that, as far as I can recall, the Society has never included that particular scene in an assembly drama. Of course, I would suspect that, given the opportunity, the Society would prepare a full two-hour drama just on that one scene, perhapsin the form of a modern/ancient hybrid, such as used to be presented directly from the platform. After all, in light of the Society's overall attitude and policy toward children, it's right up their alley.
I've been out since 2002. So I've never seen any of the JW Broadcasting. I watched the Leah Remini special with my wife (never a witness) and I felt really embarrassed when they showed a clip of him.

Here we go the Sunday afternoon session. It is the session that we used to clap for many exciting things. Something I’ve raised with my mum, who’s still a believing witness, is on the topic which Stephen Lett touched on: The bible never needed revising. Okay, let’s say I agree. If that’s true and we have never needed a “Bible 2: More Biblier”, then why would Jehovah, who inspired a perfect writing which never needed revision, use an organisation who CONSTANTLY need revisions and go further to the point of harming children, and in fact causing Jehovah’s name to come into disrepute because of that.
There is a difference between the guys in this drama and actual apostates. Actual apostates actually find things when they investigate Jehovah's Witnesses.

Well, I mean Daniel is interesting as a figure but what we really need is an interlude targeted to the younger children. Lett would be perfect as the avuncular introducer: "In the following dramatisation, watch what happens to 42 children when they call Elisha a baldy. It's a perfect lesson for our yang wans who can meditate upon the claw-marks of a loving god."

In all seriousness, I'm surprised that, as far as I can recall, the Society has never included that particular scene in an assembly drama. Of course, I would suspect that, given the opportunity, the Society would prepare a full two-hour drama just on that one scene, perhapsin the form of a modern/ancient hybrid, such as used to be presented directly from the platform. After all, in light of the Society's overall attitude and policy toward children, it's right up their alley.

I've been out since 2002. So I've never seen any of the JW Broadcasting. I watched the Leah Remini special with my wife (never a witness) and I felt really embarrassed when they showed a clip of him.

Who's this chap, Darius the Mede? I had to laugh. I've often wondered this question myself ever since singing The Daniel Jazz at junior school. But Lloyd has such an amusing way of putting it, especially with his northern accent. Adds a bit of light-heartedness to the discussion.
