that's a very nice looking Old Smoky and I agree with the comments ref the colour smashing little video I just got one on ebay am watching for the post man I used to have a green one with out the roof there great
Oh my dear, the Sound is very lovly! ! Gustav Gustav ... Gustav Gustav. .. einfach nur genial, der Sound im Leerlauf! !! 👍 👍 Hört mal hin , Gustav Gustav. .. Gustav
For i have 1 of these But the 1 i have i bought out of an Catalog & i have run it a few time's & it uses Esbit Fuel to power it as to this 1 the fuel tray is an hand made 1 that uses some kind of fuel But it still run's for as well built that Wilesco's Steam Engine's are.
I realize this is an old video, but if you happen to to see this, can you tell me where you got the heating element? I have the same model on order from eBay and would be interested in getting a heater like the one you used in the video. Thanks!
Lovely engine. I have a Wilesco roller but the seal on the back of the boiler where the glass is has gone and took it off and wonder how I solder it back on or does it push in the hole in the boiler?
I have repaired this sort of situation for a fiend of a friend. I took the whole boiler out of the casing and then soldered it back together using a blow torch. Unfortunately, I haven't heard if they are actually running it and ow it holds up. If all else fails, Wilesco are also selling sprare parts.
Wheels bent or rear axle bent? The factory is still there, you can surely mail them. And they even have a YT channel, with a tiny amount of subscribers! If you can take wheels and axle apart, I would carefully bend/knock the axle straight on a vice. Rivets can be replaced with new ones, just drill them away.
I don´t know why the WILESCO D365 is their best engine when it comes to smooth and extremely slow idling. Does you or someone els know why ´cos my engine is capable to do it too
You could, or just put a couple of rubber bands around the wheels. The finish on the rims is not a perfect machined finish anyway. I expect that most folk would put up with some tyre damage.
I don´t use any stinking solid fuel anymore on every small scale steam engine I own : Methylated spirit or a little gas burner does it , and yes,the Wilesco engines run very smooth on this fuels after a good running in . My two big steam engines are really coal fired
weathered naturally quite nicely, i would totally leave it that way, looks quite realistic.
beyond realistic! The first thing he should have done was to clean it up!!

Never mind. I should have read the comments first. Forest Classic.
Where did you get the container for the liquid fuel?
I believe you can get them off a site called 'Forest classics' but I think they are discontinued

Hi, what u use for doing fire?
I use industrial methylated spirit.
Is your liquid fuel just alcohol
I have a black and silver model, but the rear wheels are bent... any idea how to fix???

And I thought my one was dirty

So go Charlie witcher
Won't running it on that ground damage the wheels?
Unfortunately yes the wheels will get marked. Its either leave it on a shelf or play, I know what I'd rather do.
You could, or just put a couple of rubber bands around the wheels. The finish on the rims is not a perfect machined finish anyway. I expect that most folk would put up with some tyre damage.
😎
They run so much better on gas or on a meths burner.

Very nice, I got one of these, check my channel for tuck of war with it.
