I used to hate Deadmau5. His early work was mostly factory preset arpeggiators and spaced out transitions. I could buy a keyboard and use the factory preset patterns myself.
Then I realized he was just getting to know his way around his equipment.
His later work is fantastic as he figured out how to arrange things.
Niice mix I bookmarked it.
Definitely, he was somewhat a pioneer in the industry, so even if his really early stuff is simple by today’s standards, he was helping pave the road.
But funny enough he was also aware of the simplicity and released ironic tunes like “this is the hook” that essentially poke fun at the genre.
As time went on he gained a love for experimenting with sounds, and alongside that he developed a skill for composition. We’re left with some pretty beautiful stuff from him today!

Nice. Some seem to be different mixes to tunes I know already. Deadmau5 is simply brilliant. I have trouble remembering track names, probably because of lack of lyrics or it could be because I am old. Haha.
Martin Berry 100 percent right, to name a few, I know "where phantoms sleep" is like "phantoms don't hang" "Pets 2" is a minor spin on "pets" and "777" uses piano from "superbia".
Knowing all those songs before hand makes the new ones even more amazing in my opinion. It's cool to listen to how Joel completely changes the atmosphere while keeping the same hooks.
Happy to see someone else loving that 777 ending part, I repeat it from the song thousands of times. 777 has an amazing evolution.
