Lucina isn't struggling against Zelda, Naskino is just THAT good at the matchup. He's insanely good at timing mixups at unreactable range enabling him to force Lucina to respect him at times where landing aerials/spaced tilts would ordinarily be abused without too much thinking to wall him, while also being very consistent at closing stocks
Mr E's passive playing style with Lucina is a huge disadvantage while fighting zoners. I think he needs to adapt an aggressive style like Protobhanam, constantly pushing the opponents for their own errors.
Zelda is far less of a zoner. She’s an anti-zoner. With phantom being a slow projectile, it’s mainly used to control space of the stage. She’s a trap based character. Her frame data is decent and she does have some close up buttons and 5 out of shield options with 3 of them killing if you touch her shield wrong.
@@lokks2130 Y’all have to stop sleeping on characters 😂. Speed is good to have but speed is not everything. You can have good movement and still lose. Examples would be Byleth, Steve, and Kazuya with notable results despite being slow and having good strengths. The problem is nobody explores other characters. Phantom isn’t meant to force approaches. It’s meant to limit space for players who doesn’t approach, cover landings, platforms, every ledge option, or condition shield break set ups. Almost every pro player at least once said having great oos options is really good for characters cuz shield pressure is a thing at top level and many characters can’t do anything about it. Lastly, Zelda Jab one has mix up potential and can lead to kills at high%, up tilt is a combo starter, down tilt to fair kills at mid and all these has a fast start up.
@@lokks2130 Anti Zoners means a character can zone while playing aggressively. Out of shield options is not the only thing going for Zelda. Bruh up-tilt is good. Down tilt is frame 5 and can be used after jab 1. Mid percents, It can be followed up with a dash attack and lightning kick. The hitbox lingers too for 6 frames which can help out with 2-framing into down b. Zelda is good at ledge trapping and she can also edge-guard a majority of the cast. @TreyMM-qz4wg A win. Mr.E has beaten Zelda’s before. Naskino is good and he knows how his character works better than most Zelda’s. Lucina wins the match up but, better characters doesn’t mean victory. That’s a problem a lot of people have. It’s the time you put into your character. Saying it’s a fluke is like discrediting the Zelda’s hard work on making it as far as she did.
@@johnbingham5693 because zelda is a zoner and is not those aggressive characters people consider as hype. Not to mention zelda has been some sort of controversy in wifi era
Let's not forget Mr E has a lot of experience against Zelda having played Zerotwonone many times before moving to France. This was Naskino being a great player and causing Mr E to panic and choose bad options because they took every opening so far.
Bruh these commentators are sus Naskino wasnt doing any "rando UpB's in neutral" dude was clearly whiff punishing or had good reasons to Up B. Top players rarely do anything truely at random

That move takes such specific precision on the map to execute without SDing. Don't try this at home all of you newly inspired Zelda players! 🤓 But when combined with the phantom like that, it can shield break in a second. Masterful. Truly impressive play! #Zeldamain
This is SO true. I've heard people say Palu and Mewtwo mains are always doing cancels so it's not that special to pull it off with Zelda, but it takes way more precise spacing to pull off Zelda's cancel without SDing. I played a bit of Palu before and you can pretty much just spam her cancels if you have good movement on platforms or roughly know where the sweetspot for the cancel is from centre stage, with hardly any risk at all. Wish this was the case for Zelda as her movement options would be way more accessible and spammable and I bet she'd be considered way higher on the tier list haha
This Zelda player knows the character very well and all of her confirms and set ups to the point where her opponent had no idea how to deal with her knight and baited Ariels. The swords woman had no idea what to do as all four games showed as she was just pushing inputs and doing just basic plays / confirms that work but that can only do so much as she had no idea what she was doing. Great Set for Zelda over all.
This actually looks pretty tough for Lucina. Slow fall speed and not an amazing disadvantage state would make it quite difficult for her to weave in and out of Zelda’s traps. I’m sure Mr. E can do it, probably just a few things to consider.
Lucina can wall out zelda if she wants. She can wall out zelda with her disjoints and ground speed. Zelda’s speed or lack of makes some matchups very hard for her as it’s difficult to catch characters faster than her who don’t have to approach. As long as lucina is careful about her approach and spaces to keep zelda out she should win.
