    why did you take tension pass through centre they didn't give it's perpendicular to the surface of sphere???

    Sir...the difference between Lami's theorem and Sine rule?

      Sine rule or Triangle law --- you will use this law to find resultant when there are two forces
      Lami's Theorem----- you will use this when the system is subjected to three forces and it is under equilibrium. Which means resultant is zero in lamis theorem
      You have to use sine rule when there is resultant, when there is no resultant or resultant magnitude is equal to zero then you can use lami's theorem

      In the question itself it is mentioned that the length of the chain AB is equal to radius 'r'.
      AD = AB=BD = r + r = 2r

      Read the given question first... In the question itself it is mentioned that the string length AB is equal to radius of the sphere
