Trogly, tried a G&G Jaguar Case for the Acoustasonic Tele and it fit really well. Believe that is what Fender uses for the Exotic Wood Version that comes with the G&G Hard Case.
Should try and put electric Stings on the (G-B-E) high strings. Much easier for a bit of lead playing and bending, still keeping the acoustic qualities of the lower end.
Cheers! Glad ya finally did this video.. NOW to try the Tele??

Lack of a hard case says we think it's nice... but if it gets ruined in shipping we're not out much. If it doesn't fit in a standard case that means you're looking for an aftermarket case and to me that's kinda a deal breaker, 2 grand is a lot too invest on a guitar that you have to be extra extra careful with transporting it.

As a someone who owns the Tele version, I can say it is absolutely worth it. My band was playing over 30 shows in a normal year; with a few acoustic shows thrown in the mix. Rather than needing to relearn your sets and all of the solos for in acoustic set, just grab one of these and throw the right set of strings on it and you’re good to go. (Acoustic strings with an unwound g string) Both myself and the other guitarist in my band have one.
I still have my traditional acoustic (Gibson songwriter deluxe). This guitar has a place in the arsenal. It’s not for everyone and is not a replacement for any of my electrics. Both of us in the band are very happy with the purchase. If you want an acoustic that plays like an electric, this is your solution.

I love my high end acoustics and I know that this product isn't for me but if you're making money playing an a/e this to my ear is the best sounding piezo system and 2k isn't a deal breaker for a professional musician. It definitely blows my Taylors and Gibson out of the water plugged in and it also does some neat tricks.

    • @collecter3456

    • @duffman18
      @duffman18 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

People comparing them to actual acoustics are missing the point entirely. It's like looking at a review of a normal strat and going "why don't you just buy a Martin". They do different things, they're aimed at different people.
Unless you enjoy putting electric guitar pickups with a blend circuit with the piezo and electric guitar necks onto your £3000 Martin, and then chopping off half the body to make it lighter, which if you do then you're dumb

    • @jubei7259
      @jubei7259 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@duffman18 yeah, I get that. I think this is aimed at a very specific group of players. I use my old Gibson J-200 both live & in the studio for my acoustic stuff & my Gibsons & Strat onstage at gigs so I know this isn't for me but I know it wasn't aimed at me. There are enough guys now who dig that style for Fender to decide that making 'em is a good idea.

My hypothesis re: the patented soundhole: the low-pitched tones of an acoustic guitar are dominated by helmoltz resonance formed by the body cavity and the sound hole. The volume of compressible air in the body is a “spring” and the parcel of air moving in and out of the sound hole is a “mass.” By ducting the sound hole as they have, the mass of entrained air is increased, thus lowering the resonance frequency. This would give louder bass tones with the small cavity. What do you think?

I actually had the expectation that it was something that could be played distorted but when he pointed out that it doesn't work like that, the price point really killed me. It looks like there are some really fancy features in it but it seems like a combination of fancy features that end up limiting the guitar too much.
I feel like if $2,000 is in my price range for an acoustic guitar, I'd rather use that as an opportunity to get an amazing sounding traditional, all wood, thick, etc etc instrument .

I will be making a small rubber pick guard for mine. My strum tends to tap or scrape the body and this guitar really resonates that tapping far more than on my Taylor or Ovation Elite. Other than that it feels and sounds great and allows me to practice my acoustic songs while still being able to see the fret board, something I lost over time with the growth of my spare tire!

It impressed me more than anticipated. I'm not sure I'd want one, but thanks to this video, I'm not sure I wouldn't, either. It occurs to me that another option for making this axe more legitimately acoustic and electric, you could swap out the first three strings for electric strings with an unwound G-string, though you would probably want to use the first three from a 10-gauge setup. You need to fill up that body with sound, so it's hard to say; it just might make the guitar better-suited for blues-type players who need bending to be a bit more plausible.

Something like this would be awesome, I think this is just he coolest guitar!
I get really bad kinks in my neck from wearing a strap with most guitars. My current guitar weighs about 8 pounds and is still a bit much for me, also I live in a small apartment and don't always want to plug into an amp and headphones and a full acoustic would be way too loud imo.
Plus that's my favorite fretboard i've seen, the way the lighter color splits the darker colors near the headstock is so cool!

They also made an Acoustasonic series before. It was a Strat or Tele where the electric body was carved out and a soundboard and acoustic bridge with tone and volume controls on the bridge. 18v preamp system, 3 active piezo undersaddle pickups and 3-way split saddle. It sounded thin unplugged and plugged in, but since it was an actual caster it played identical to the electric.

I have a Taylor with an LR Baggs Anthem in it and, unless I missed this, the Acoustasonic is appears to be missing something MAJOR. The Anthem allows you to adjust the blend the mic with the pickup to control feedback. You can get a Taylor and install an Anthem for less than the Acoustasonic. Trust me, I did it. Strats are my preferred electric, but own Taylor's with both the Anthem and Expression systems. Both out perform this from what I see here and I've spent less on those 2 Taylors than the Acoustasonic costs and I play lead. This is a luxury, not a necessity, IMHO. If Fender ever makes a MIM of MIJ, I'd consider buying 1, but there are a lot more things I'd put $2K into before I'd buy an Acoustasonic. Oh, and BOTH Taylors came with hardshell cases for less than $2K combined.

Thanks for doing a review on this. It answered a couple of questions I have had.
If you get a chance to review the old Stratacoustic I think you may be pleased by it. If I still had my 2001 model I would send it to you for a comparison.
When I received it and unboxed it, it felt like a toy and I thought I would have enjoyed just setting fire to $300 instead. That changed once I began playing. Unplugged, it had sort of a banjo-like tone that was nice once you got used to it. Plugged in it sounded every inch like a Strat. Back then they were using the Fishman 4. Clean or dirty, I never had a problem with feedback. After 44 years of playing, selling and trading it's one of three guitars that caused me seller's remorse. I heard the quality went downhill in later years, but that first year of production they were the cat's original pajamas.

I can't get past the Tele-acoustic and Strat-acoustic from a few years ago. I tried the new Tele version of the guitar, and to be honest, I do not believe the sound, either amplified or acoustic, is worth $1999. Acoustically speaking, it has the sound of a Backpacker guitar, and amplified there's nothing special either.
Though I do have to admit the guitar you are reviewing does has a great looking fretboard and bridge, but that doesn't account for the $1999 price tag either, and I don't see this guitar commanding such a big price tag either.
Oh well, to each their own.

Take it from me, I play over 200 gigs a year. I bought one of these, and it was a HUGE mistake. It sounds more like a banjo than a guitar, and preamps and EQs only helped minimally. Also, if you break a string, which happened more frequently than many other “straight acoustic” guitars I’ve owned, the string end will fall into the guitar cavity, and if you don’t removed the jack immediately, the string end can short out the output circuit board, which will need to be replaced. The finish scratches easily as well, and the included gig bag is not up to the daily grind of a working musician. My advice: instead of spending $2k on this, spend $1k on a decent straight Acoustic with a good LR Baggs pickup. If you still want the electric option, use the leftover $1k to buy a good used strat with an HSS setup. I just saved you money and a bunch of heartache. You’re welcome.

As a beginner that’s 44 years old and a combat disabled Marine, that lost everything as far as family or friends once I got out, I’ve been wanting to find something I can learn and get some pride back after working hard to learn guitar.
So I’m really considering a Squier 50’s Classic Vibe Telecaster from everything I’ve read or heard here on TH-cam.
Fortunately I’ve come into some money, so I could get the player Telecaster (Fender obviously), instead. But I doubt it would make much of any difference to me at my level.
That being said, I could get the Squier Tele, but also purchase a Tele acoustasonic like you showed in the beginning. I’m a fan of the Tele obviously. LOL.
I just would love an electric acoustic. I love the sound and everything. But for me, at my level as I’ve said, is it a waist really?
I’d really appreciate any advice. I’m on a very fixed income, this may be the last time in my life even that I can consider even buying one guitar, even the Squier! So having the opportunity to maybe get that and a very nice acoustic like this is beyond anything I’ve ever thought possible for me in a decade easily.
Honestly I just want/need to do this for myself. I take care of my kids with everything I do get, which is why this would be possible in the first place. Or I’d never consider buying anything for myself even!
Sorry for all of this, it’s just a big decision for me. I just feel like I can get some of that pride in myself back that I had once as an infantry Marine. I don’t care if anyone ever heard anything I played even. I just need something...
Again, apologies for all this. 😔. Any help is really appreciated. Thank you very much. 🙏
    -Steve

That's an N4 Middle pickup that was release on the Elite Stratocaster Series. Which makes sense because the Elite was last produced in 2019ish which is roughly when these were designed. Knowing Fender that may have updated that to the Ultra on newer versions since the N4 went out of production is 2019ish. -Bruce Gombrelli

its 20,000.00 and my 61 reissue blows it away. Monkey is over rated and taylored for someone missing their finger tips. It also has a Zero Fret. Look that up. THe pick ups are questionable. You have to like those kinds of pick ups. They come in both left and right handed models-that's nice. Other than that, save your money and go on a European vacation or have your yard landscaped or kitchen remodeled. Monkey SG is fun to look at in a Rock Stars and their Guitars context. Make your own buy leaving it in a hot car for 2 months in sweltering heat. Then order the sticker from Gibson. Then pound in a Zero Fret. Then gut the Humbuckers or Burst Buckers. Ioni's SG has P 90's I think that i believe that I feel. And also hella scratches like it was dropped on the freeway doing 60. Other than that you should run out a grab a few and forget about your kidz braces.

i actually kinda of love how this thing looks. maybe they should make a lower end one? no ebony, no charger port just a 9v slot, and other kind of basic specs. or maybe have squier make one

Have a feeling we'll be seeing a mid-range model some time very soon.

For the Fender Acoustasonic Stratocaster's review, I am wearing a "Fender" brand T-shirt.
