Its always valuable to show the toolbar or menu option, as people who use a feature rarely dont profit much from shortcuts, but can remember menu options easier.
have to say, like your explanations a lot - unlike the loads of 3d artists making videos like "do this, just click here, here, here, add shader, connect to..." recipe videos that just show you somehting, and if you want to modify it you're stuck, you're taking the time to explain what something actually does and what it could be used for. Really appreciated.
adding loop cuts didnt work fine for me i pressed ctrl+R but it didnt give the same result that you had overall thank you so much the rest of the tutorial was really amazing!♥
yeee, thanks for the tips, but also for your english language that is very easy for me to understand (unlike a big part of the other videotutorial I found in the Internet)
Can anyone help me out? I have a model that I cannot extrude without it leaving left over walls. If I dissolve those walls, it removes the entire wall when I need to cut only up to a certain point.
I understand, the problem with faces overlapping the extrusion is when you can divide a cube into 4 parts and the extrusion also needs to pass through the other part, then you have to duplicate the faces. the extrusion also passes to the other part
Thank you very much for another entertaining video!!! Maybe you can tell , please , the reason for the Extrude Manifold problem? Why doesn't the walls dissolve when using this operation? Maybe Extrude Manifold needs special settings? This happens when creating a model from a plane. When using the cube everything works well.
the normals are not in the center of a polygon, actually its calculated by the vertex normals because just vertices have normals, faces don't. and the manifold extrusion in blender is still so bad, I hope they gonna do what 3ds max has. max did implement "manifold extrusion" after they saw it in blender, and they just made it right. it works through many polys without problems... not like in blender
I agree with your normal explanation to the certain point. In Blender you can see all 3 type of normals. Vertex, Spljt and Face normals. I wanted to simplify the explanation for beginners. I didn't want to speak how normals are vectors that are defining the direction in which a face is pointing. And that we have right handed coordinate system etc... Maybe I will make a video just about normals. By the way, I didn't saw what 3DS Max did with the manifold extrusion. Thanks for pointing out.
vertex normals can be anything you set them to, they're not related to the face in any way. face normal is the cross product of two edges. (and of course the normal is at every point of the face, not just the centre. they're just often drawn in the centre for clarity.)
4 SIDE [QUADS] ARE IMPORTANT IN YOUR MODEL!!!!! PLEASE ITS IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT MANIFOLD EXTRUDE WILL KINDA RUIN THE QUAD, WHICH IS IMPORTANT FOR LATER UV STUFF AND RENDERING... 4 sides is the best, 3 sides and above 5 are secondary, make them less as possible! its important to remind yourself of topoloygy stuff , especially in beginning of modeling stuff!
The manifold is the long time problem for me and also the extrude along cursor since i was wondering how can i make a handle without making a new object🤣
Hallo, can anyone help me, after applying loops creating my topology etc when i extrude the plane the shape is hollow. Like one side is open... How do i close it? Help a brother out 🙏
Yo so I got a problem were my manifold extrude manifold does not work on my model but when I open up something new it is fine, I’m forced to use dissolve edges. Anyone got a clue
Doesn't work for me. Extrude Manifold. Trying to push in faces on a cube and I'm still getting faces along the sides while I push the selected face in. Hmm.
OK, 1 min in and I had to Like for the humor. It's like you are in my head trying to figure things out. LOL I'm hoping you will tell me why my edge extrudes made the piece they are extruded from, inactive/unelectable. Nope, you didn't address it. So, I extruded an edge of a letter character. After doing so or somewhere along the way the letter I am manipulating became inactive or unelectable. All of the extrudes are selectable. I did this operation last night and didn't have this issue. I deleted all my extrusions from the letter and the letter is still unelectable. I did something while editing the letter itself. I What am I missing? I don't need an answer. I just started over and it all works fine.
It still didn't work, I even managed to do better, I do the following, add the cube, go to editing, add 2 divisions CTRL+R, then apply EXTRUSION DOWN, when I have to dissolve it many times and then I still have to delete the segment to clean it up.
Oh man the extrude manifold info was great, I am 3 months into learning Blender and I never knew that, I kept doing it like you were at the beginning.
I am 5 years into Blender still didnt know lol

As a beginner, your advice hit the nail on the head.
كنت اعاني قبل ان اشاهد مقطعك الان انا اصبحت افضل بفضلك
thank you sir... i am using blender more than 4 years... but i learn these things today thanks again
When we thought we knew about extrusion, and yet we know nothing! Great explanation!
Very Important information. Helped me a lot. Thank you.
Wasn't even looking for this tutorial yet it's exactly what I needed. Thanks so much!
I started with Blender literally yesterday.
This was very helpful! Thanks!
PS: the cube extrusion by parts reminded me of the game Catherine 😂
I'm just discovering a couple of your tutorials, they are really great. Very efficient, and so interesting topics! Thanks a lot
That was awesome. I heard about this a little while ago, but I totally forgot it. Glad to know more from this video.
Now this is a tip that every sketchup modellers need before start using blender, thank you very much
thank´s for showing the manifold extrusion method, it was very handy.
Thank you for these details and tips. I'm from Iran.
Very impressive yet again. As a beginner, your videos are the holy grail for blender.
Thank you 👍
You're welcome 💪🏼
Literally me when it comes to extrusion. Love this tutorial btw ❤
really nice tuto. You ve got a new follower ^^
Great explanation! Thanks a lot!
adding loop cuts didnt work fine for me
i pressed ctrl+R but it didnt give the same result that you had
overall thank you so much the rest of the tutorial was really amazing!♥
Dang, so concise explanation with various methods to a performance I was looking an answer to. Thanks!
yeee, thanks for the tips, but also for your english language that is very easy for me to understand (unlike a big part of the other videotutorial I found in the Internet)
you can also do that with ctrl + left click.... work in all 3 modes vertex edge face
What exactly?
Thank You SO Much!
Thanks!
LMFAO the begining is 100% me, thanks dude!
Great tutorial! Manifold part I forgot, thanks for a reminder. ;)
Can anyone help me out? I have a model that I cannot extrude without it leaving left over walls. If I dissolve those walls, it removes the entire wall when I need to cut only up to a certain point.
thanks guy, you very cool to explain
Thank you i had trouble with it this make so much sense
Thank you I was in tears
4:58 the part he shows at the beginning is all the way here btw
I love you bro
This was mighty helpful thanks

One little thing that would make the video better is to display your keystrokes, it would surly help me keep up
You even covered multiple shortcuts tysm
Thanks a lot!! Its very helpful!!!

I'm not sure what exactly you have an issue with, but extrude manifold is bot that polished. Sometimes works great, sometimes not...
Thank you!@@3Dnot2D
Thank you for making basic yet powerful tutorial. You earned a subscriber. Remember, I'm your 25.7kth subscriber. 😉
Thank you so much!! this help me a lot
this is what every beginner needs to see bfore they mess up their mesh
Thanks man, you rock!
alt + E and if your faces merge go to the tools tab and select auto-merge set threshold to 0.01mm
Thanks! Helps a lot!
Thank you so much, I started Blender recently and I was like "There must be a better way than delete those parts after extruding"
Thank u a lot , ur methode is like educative
Nice 👍🏻
Appreciate the video. For future tutorials I would recommend you get to the point more quickly as this video could have been less than a minute short
Great tutorial
Brilliant!
how about for extruding with desire measurement? what's the command key for that?
Legend! Subbed
You are the guy !
Can we extrude it like maya? especially edges when i try the along normals it scales with it while maya has no such problems
how did u make ur cube have those lines? mine is just flat

do you know where the backface culling is in blender 4?? im having trouble with the normals but i cant really tell without it :(

You can just make the whole tutorial in just 20 seconds
Preach brother
Do it then you’ll get all the views
The manifold is the long time problem for me and also the extrude along cursor since i was wondering how can i make a handle without making a new object🤣
too bad that blender does not have the manifold modeling ability of sketchup
Can I extrude something with a specific number? Like, i want to extrude something 3mm, it's there anywhere i can just type the amount?
Thanks bro 🤜🤜🤜
press alt+e there you go
How do you create multiple loop cuts with CTRL + R
Ctrl+r then mouse wheel, scroll it.
The extrude manifold doesn't seem to change anything for me, still get the faces
I like it
Thanx ❤
You're welcome 💪🏼
my mesh is like pulled in all together when using the manifold.. its like i created a black hole inside
thank you 👍
Great!
There is no 'manifold' option in my blender, how to fix the problem then?
Hallo, can anyone help me, after applying loops creating my topology etc when i extrude the plane the shape is hollow. Like one side is open... How do i close it? Help a brother out

do you guys know where the backface culling button is??
Tyvm
thanks but I have a problem when I extrude inside it doesn't move.
Maybe you are having double geometry. Don't know what is the issue without seeing it 🤷♂️
@@3Dnot2D thanks i will check if a double geometry
Update: yes it's exactly as you said thank god
Thanks
6:45 Is the one extrude!
Blender is good program
It's amazing 💪🏼
5:10 is what u are looking for.

oh like sketchup
Why not you can get download screencast key add-ons.
I am full deaf and I don't understand your speak voice. Thanks.
I'm using it in my tutorials, unfortunately I forgot to turn it on for this one.
Ok thanks @@3Dnot2D
"Justy go here, and move it down". Where was the "here"??
top

this not work with blender 4.2.3 💔💔💔💔💔💔
too many ngons on the cube :P
хорош
i hated too much blander, its make very difficult and do what he wants, is the worst 3d model program
Press g and z?
That will stretch the connected faces along with the selected one.
I don't remember it stretching the connected faces
it so boring that people show the wrong way at first, when we knew how it works we would not be here
I like when he shows the problem...it confirms it matches my problem when I am looking for a solution. Great video
thanks sir
