We need more of this in 2024. MT was never well accepted by critics but I have loved these stories since I was a kid on the road with my dad. Every night at 9pm on KNX radio out of Southern California. Only problem is they put me to sleep. I have listened to about half of most episodes because I can’t seem to stay awake through them. A blessing for this serious insomniac. I think I am going to make a movie with my young daughter by adapting one of these episodes. That should be fun!
Love this series. I remember radio shows from my early childhood. I was in my 20s whenthese were broadcast, and I don't think I knew of them. Time is puzzling. Thanks for posting!
8 June 2024 - Listening from the beautiful Bluegrass of Kentucky, USA, on a nippy June morning. Good episode, great story! Impressed by Sam Dann’s knowledge of history, disasters, and how to connect them to one character’s experience. I feel for her. Great voices on this one, too.
Hello fellow listeners! I’m tuned in on 06/22/2023 from Richmond, VIRGINIA❤ #praying for those lost in the submersible while they were hoping to see the Titanic ship underwater🙏🏽💙❤️🩹
Hi. thats not the episode :: this one is > cbs radio mystery theater(( the city of the dead ).. 2 men get into a sphere and travel 4 miles down to the bottom of the ocean and get stuck.. one mentions not saying good bye to his mother ... before they go they question the water pressure 5,000 lbs.. just wow:::::: oh my Incredible''''
@@dancingtrout6719 Hi, yes my prayer was the timing of when this particular episode came up in my feed which was exactly the same time as the missing submersible. May God rest their souls and comfort the grieving loved ones.😔

These were broadcast every night back in the day. They were themselves a determined effort to bring radio entertainment to modern times.
Thanks, David.❤
Always love hearing the News of the Day.

The same to you, Catherine 😊
I can’t decide who I love more Sam Dann or Ian Martin

Ian was amazing but Sam wrote the best ones. My ultimate favorite though, The Birthmark, was written by Elspeth Eric.
It’s Elspeth for me. Then Sam.
@@riverbilly64 the more I listen the more I agree with you. My order has changed now to Elspeth, Dann and then Martin
This reminds me of an episode of Rod Serling's old TV show Night Gallery titled Lone Survivor.
The Night Gallery paintings were scarier than the episodes.

What a great story!
Do you have any CBS radio mystery theater with commercials? I love the commercials...

Better than many films. More drama, more tension. Super!
My great uncle told me that JP Morgan used to come down to hunt on his daddy's land. We are in NC. I assume Morgan paid for the opportunity.
Good story
