Nebraskas defense won us this one, blackshirts played smart, fast, and with passion. But, the final score should have been like 37-7, we can’t have that many errors in the redzone, just unacceptable especially after 3 of them were from turnovers.
I honestly believe if we didn't have a defense we would be 1-5 maybe even 0-6
Reminds of me Nebraska 2009 where the defense was unreal and the offense let them down time after time.
I get what you’re saying, but the 2009 defense was WAYYY better than this defenses. To be fair though, this offense is probably worse than the 2009 offense too
How do you not include highlights of the goal line stand on the game’s first series? That was arguably the most important sequence in the whole game.
Reggie Love ran for 10 yards on Illinois' first play from scrimmage. Nebraska's D held Illinois to 11 more yards rushing ...... the rest of the game.

It may take time to build a contender at NU! But I see NU on the rise the right way! Rhule and coaches are exactly what the Big Red need! I do believe the Big Red has a great shot at a bowl game this year and getting better and better each season under Coach Rhule! The 4th quarter wasn't good with 3 turnovers, but overall much improved over even the Michigan game!!!

Solid W Big Red! Matt Rhule is a legit coach, stay patient with him (way easier said than done, Husker nation has been patient for so long now) he knows how to build a winning program and has a proven track record of doing so. Good luck!

i moved to omaha from alabama in 76. that year al. put a licking on ne. they left them where i could find them, but they took all 4 tires off my v.w. still some of the best people i've ever met.

Ahhh, that's my Huskers. Should have been about a 38-7 beat down but fortunately we were able to commit some untimely turnovers and penalties. If our Blackshirts weren't playing out of their mind we would have been able to snatch defeat from the Jaws of victory yet again. Go Blackshirts. Go Big Red.

Holding Illinois to only 7, even with all those turnovers is impressive on the Defensive Ngl. That offense needs to learn a thing or two however

I was at the game tonight. I have rarely seen a QB run like a running back. He was lowering his shoulders instead of sliding, and outrunning defensive backs. Either way, both teams didn't look great tonight. Illinois got away with a huge hold on that touchdown pass, and Nebraska gave Illinois so many opportunities in terms of turnovers and penalties. Not to mention Illinois fan base isn't the greatest. I saw so much red there tonight, and they were much more enthusiastic.
Would be nice if he threw like a quarterback.

I was there too. Absolutely loved hearing the "GO BIG RED" chants in the second half. Gotta feel good to hear people chanting for your team at an away stadium
@rizipt in nebraskas defense, the only time we’ve ever had national championship level seasons we’ve had QBs who were good runners and, most of the time, painfully mediocre passers 😂😂

I’m an Illinois fan myself and I know for a fact that this a coaching issue. I’m not saying Bielema needs fired. Bart Miller our O-Line coach definitely needs to be fired right this second. There is no excuse to how bad our Offense Line is playing this bad. If Luke Altmyer keeps on taking all those hits he will eventually get hurt. That is one my concerns. We also need to fire Barry Lunney the Offense Coordinator. His play calling has been so bad. All season long on a 4th and short he always just does a handoff and it hasn’t worked all season. Why has he not tried something else on a 4th and short? His play calling is also predictable. And it has been all season.
This is the problem with fans, on every team, they want someone fired. He has only been there for 2 years lol. Some of the greatest caoches took 10-20 years to finally become the greats they were. I am a nebraska Fan, stay away from wishing to fire someone based on a season or 2 or even 10. you keep firing people, People and kids will stop wanting to come, Because your school has earned a reputation of not sticking by your people. Loyalty has faded from this country, Instead of pointing out the bad in your coaches and kids, start embracing the good.

🎉I like the energy in the front line rush.... a few pointers and they could be big threat. The D backs need to be more aggressive and get into the fight, never lose on one on one. Additionally No Reciever should be tackled by one d back, run over them or through them and run as if your life depends on it.
