I don’t know if singers can achieve today or even realize what it takes to sing a complete take with a live band and be note for note pitch perfect, sonically powerful and be complete in every range. No copy and pasting. No pencil tool. Just raw New Jersey born talent.
Frank was a freak of nature.

Guy was out of this world, almost not real,a freak of nature would be a great way to describe him.

Q put together a true ALL STAR BAND with outstanding arrangements. With Sinatra, older but in fine voice, at the microphone who could ask for more. The BEST of the BEST....

Just WOOOAOO! . Oh my Gosh, what a great musical experience both Quincy and all big band members for Frank Sinatra, one of the greatest pop singers of the world. What a great close for that theme both emotional and musically. Brutal performance. Bravo!..👌👏👏👏👏👏.

if you read any of the books about Sinatra..and i have read them all...you will see that when Sinatra was in the studio....the musicians all sat up straight....because they respected Sinatra.....who couldn't read music....but was more than capable of orchestrating the song he was singing..on the fly....

Amazing record these many men recorded, very underrated, every song is great. You can feel the the genius of these two when you listen to the album. It’s called “L.A. is my Lady” by Frank Sinatra w/ Quincy Jones.
RIP Frank, the best ever! I’ll see you soon in heaven my friend!

Yes, he worked with the best because he WAS the best and water always moves well with water in the same direction! All these masterful musicians, each talented in their own right, together with THE VOICE of the 20th Century, what more would we want, except maybe a repeat today, but that's impossible, so we're enjoying this and thanks for posting so we can!

You know Sinatra didn't read music so his singing and assessing an arrangement was all done by ear and experience with multiple bands.

I don't think he had any emotional talent. He got a leg up by the mafia and we all know how many people's lives were destroyed by those goons!
Give me Billy Holiday any day of the week.
