@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2 A good video that highlights this is SCP-1609: Remains of a Chair. It reveals a bit about the SCP ethos, and how trying to off an SCP can lead to disastrous consequences.
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2 that poor chair has probably the worst case of PTSD ever...not that you can blame it considering the GOC ran it through a wood chipper. all it did was teleport behind people if they needed a seat (if I remember correctly) it was completely harmless, but after they did that. If anyone acts threateningly around it or is dressed remotely like the GOC. It'll teleport it's splinters into their lungs. The foundation contain it by using it as mulch in a park flowerbed at a site. Staff required to compliment the flowers and such growing in the bed and how good the mulch is (again this is to the best of my recollection)

Ah yes, *SCP-001,* the most controversial SCP...
This SCP-001 is only *one* out of *30+* SCP-001 *Proposals.*
The In-Universe explanation is that SCP-001 is so *secret,* that only the *O5-Council* (13 mysterious persons, ruling the SCP Foundation) members know which of these Proposals is the *real* SCP-001, with the *additional* Proposals being *distractions,* distract from the real SCP-001.
The Out-of-Universe explanation is that, in the early days, when this whole *SCP* thing began to develop and grow, people *reserved* the SCP-001 slot for something *special.* People _submitted_ their *proposals,* on what SCP-001 should be; Of course, nobody could agree, which of these proposals should *permanetly* take the SCP-001 slot, so, in order to make *everybody* happy, the system of _Proposals_ was added.
*Everybody* can write their own *version* of SCP-001, which led to the absurd amount of SCP-001's; It's the reader's *choice* on what *they* believe is the *true* SCP-001.
Maybe, you like _Dr. Clef's Proposal: The Gate Guardian_ and want that to be the real SCP-001 or maybe you like _Dr. Gears' Proposal: The Prototype_ more or mabye *BOTH* of them can co-exist - _It's your choice._
*My* personal favourite is _S. Andrew Swann's Proposal: The Database._

HAPPY NEW YEAR! Here's to another year of awesome content, always love the SCP stuff. Hopefully Evan Royalty comes out with a new live action film this year. First thing I noticed in this animation is that the boy opens the cabin door outward, and pushes the table to block it from the inside. Best of luck buddy haha.
LMAO, hadn't even noticed that about the door and the table. So SCP 001 didn't even need that fancy black hole thing to gain access. 😜
There's multiple scp 001 my favorite is The gate guardian. Its basically a giant angel guarding the entrance to the Garden of Eden.
That would be a fun one to check out. 😀

Second, I haven't watched the video yet so I don't know if it's mentioned but there are at least a dozen SCP-001s. Originally it was left blank but then they hosted a competition for people to make an entry they deemed worthy of being the original SCP. The idea was to let the community vote but I don't recall if anything was ever chosen.
Happy New year! And the video didn't mention the fact that there are a number of SCP 001s out there. We saw a bunch of videos for it as well and were confused at first but now this makes more sense. Doesn't seem like there is a definitive winner yet 🤔
SCP 140 by oddity is really good too. It's about a book detailing a long dead civilization. Check it out if you guys are interested.

you guys should check SCP-001 (When Day Breaks) illustrated by SCP Ilustrated, theres no video, just a story being told, but it is still very creepy

So in dead by daylight you can't get the Demigorgon from Stranger Things anymore cause some.licensing ran out. If you already had it you have it, but it's off the market, and the map is gone. The Demugorgons big gimmick was using little nest to travel around too. This SCP even in looks I bet could be a great and way cheaper way to bring the Demigorgon back as like reskin for new players. Replace the nest with black holes, and getting hit with a flashlight messes up Killers already so it works

Now I am interested to see how you react to this SCP-001 Proposal submission. There are more than one SCP-001... some think it is The Factory. Or maybe one of the other potential submissions found on the site. The true SCP-001 is wrapped in so much misdirection that we may never know what actual SCP is the actual first one logged by the Foundation. ;-)
We noticed there were a ton of different videos for SCP 001. Now we know why. 😀
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2 I remember that it was originally going to be a competition that would get voted on by the community. Many were so good they just decided to keep them all and not vote. But then they adjusted the Lore to allow multiple proposals explaining it as the same overly beaurocratic hiding method to keep that aura of secretive organization. I like this solution!

I agree with Bethany. I suffer from epilepsy and can understand the suffering of this creature....
Even if it is highly dangerous... I am not one of those people who call animals something "vicious"... also in behavioral research, one speaks of only very few animals, namely those that are highly intelligent. Whales. Primates and dolphins. And we, of course.
It is fascinating that these creatures are subject to completely different laws of nature. Man always wants to have everything under control to understand it, but maybe we should not....
Did not realize you suffered from epilepsy. One of my best friends does as well which actually was triggered by a fall he had in his 20s. And you're right. As humans we can become quite meddlesome in the pursuit of knowledge and under the guise of safety and making the world better. Just because we understand nature doesn't mean we know more than it. Also, agreeing with Bethany is always the smart move 😜

Merry New Year and all that stuff. Ah, the fabled 001. While a lot of the other comments have informed you about the multiple 001 proposals, I'll warn you that the grand majority if not all the 001 proposals are long and complex stories, most that are covered by any sort of comprehensive videos can take upwards of 30mins to slog through, and that can be on the low end. The Ouroboros Cycle for example takes a several hour multi-video sequence to sum up accurately. The Prototype isn't my personal favourite (mine would probably be Ouroboros or Amoni-Ram, because I'm a sucker for the Church of the Broken God), but I like its simplicity in that it just happens to be the first monster that was locked up - it harkens back to SCP's almost 'monster of the week' type roots. While I understand the allure to the mystery of the 001 spot, the winners of the series contests (the entries that take the 1000, 2000, 3000 etc. slots) are still just as interesting and well written but are often a bit shorter to digest.
As for why the Foundation doesn't just kill supernatural things; sometimes you can't, sometimes it doesn't deserve it, and sometimes you don't know what sort of awful shit might happen if you do kill it. SCP 1609 (The Remains of a Chair) was a sentient wooden chair that liked helping people sit down when they needed to, so would teleport to people who wanted to sit down. That's all it did. The Global Occult Coalition (a sister organisation to the Foundation, but reports directly to the UN and is much more trigger happy) put the chair through a wood chipper to destroy it. Except it didn't work. Now you have a sentient pile of woodchips that is traumatised by the sound of heavy machinery and military looking people, that can teleport bits of itself into peoples lungs to suffocate them when scared. Trying to destroy supernatural things tends to have unforeseen consequences. 'What Happened to Site 13?' is another terrifying tale of what happens when the Foundation tries incinerating anomalies. There's actually a 001 proposal about the O5 Council destroying anomalies and it going bad too, but i forget its name.
I'll just be leaving my usual suggestions for looking into the Daevites, the Church of the Broken God, and Sarkicism. And if you plan on looking into 2845-THE DEER, then I implore you to look at The Exploring Series' video on it, since he is the only content creator i've seen that looks into explaining WHY it's procedures are the way they are.
The Exploring series is a channel we need to check out for SCP in future as we see which channel we vibe with best 🙂

SCP-001 Dr. Gears' Proposal: _The Prototype_ requires some *former knowledge,* of the SCP Universe: *References* are littered *everywhere.* So, I will explain:
*Object-Classes* are *classifications,* which the SCP Foundation gives to *all **_anomalies,_* which it has under lock and key, with the most *famous* classification being *Keter.* Dr. Hermann Keter dies, which leads to the *Object-Class **_Keter_* being formed in his honour.
The SCP Foundation is a secret organization, almost *God-like* in power, _but all things have to start somewhere._ SCP-001 The Prototype basically states that the SCP Foundation were simply some soldiers, which later became a group, so to *contain* _The Prototype;_ As more *anomalies* were discovered, this little group grew bigger, expanded and is now known as the SCP Foundation.
Quote, from SCP-001's file: _"Additional objects reported, Overseers considering conversion of ADRX-19 to a dedicated recovery and containment facility. _*_Reports may need censorship for reasons of security."_* This is the beginning of the many *(DATA EXPUNGED)'s* and *(REDACTED)'s* which litter so many SCP Files (When you read an SCP File, you will come across these words; Security Measures, as they say).
ADRX-19 was built to contain _The Prototype,_ but as more anomalies were reported to exist, ADRX-19 was *expanded* and is now known as *Site-19,* the *biggest* Containment-Facility the SCP Foundation will ever have.

My guess is _The Prototype;_ SCP-096 might be strong, fast, destroy anything and everybody who sees its face and may have *indestructible bones,* but _The Prototype_ could simply create a singularity, sucking SCP-096 in.
If _The Prototype_ sees SCP-096's face (Which it definitely will, as _The Prototype_ can only attack, when its eye is open), SCP-096 needs some time before it goes into *"Rage-Mode",* giving _The Prototype_ enough time to attack.
Thanks for adding to the debate on the fight between 096 and this 001. You make a good point about how 096 takes a bit of time to wind up into rage mode 🙂
