When I first switched from being a firefighter/medic to law enforcement I tore my rotator cuff fighting for my life. Department kept giving me BS about why I hadn't been paid yet and eventually told me that there was no proof that I got hurt at work. Finally hired a attorney and got my back pay 6 months later as well as my medical bills paid off. Fought me another 7 years before having to settle out with me for the highest amount ever paid for a torn rotator cuff in the United States at that point. I looked at the representatives for the department and said all you had to do was the right thing and it would've been alot cheaper. Instead you didn't want to do the right thing by giving me what I deserved and it's cost you a fortune. Shortly after they changed the way they handled injuries in the line of duty so no officer ever had to worry about getting paid, prescriptions or medical bills.
