    COMPLETELY agree. "Like anything else, if you want sustainable results, you have to actually do it daily." Meditation is such a powerful mental practice. Such a beautiful glimpse into this aspect of your life.

    Mimi, you should become a motivational speaker. You come off as so personal and thoughtful, and bring your points across so nicely. I would love if you spoke about your depression and anxiety, since I have suffered from it to the point where it damaged my life.

    You obviously have a wonderful relationship Mimi but the challenge i've always had when I have been in love is to not be completely consumed by it/the person and to always retain your identity and realise that that person cannot meet every need in your life and that you have to always look to yourself. Now I have swung the other way...and enjoy being on my own so much that I find it difficult to want anyone long term to have that much influence in my life...nothing is perfect eh...life is a constant challenge

    Mimi, I love what you said during your walk at the monk monastery. I have also been on that journey; to do what makes me happy not what is considered the "normal". I too find comfort in my solitude, I used to think it was a bad thing until I saw you video. Thank you for the affirmation. Big hugs from Miami. ONE LOVE!

    Hi Mimi, your Videos are always amazingly inspirational. I do meditate myself and I know the effect it has on me. And you showing everyone out there that it's nothing to fear or awkward but rather challenging and in the end making you live your life to the fullest, I just have to thank you for that. Please never stop showing other women (and men) that being amazing and succeed does not mean you have to walk on societies roads. Love from Germany!!

      I love being alone too but for people who have depression or used to suffer from it or had any connection with it it's actually the worst thing that can happen - being left alone with their own thoughts. You start to overthink everything, you remind yourself of your past or bad life choices, sometimes you just get lost and sad. And this terrifies you because you don't want to meet depression again. But I think that everyone should learn how to deal with thoughts while being alone :)

    • @MissCherielicious
      @MissCherielicious 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Marcela Tokarczyk That's not true, I've been dealing with depression for quite a while now and most of the time I prefer being on my own

    • @martynatokarczyk9589
      @martynatokarczyk9589 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +MissCherielicious I get it but what I mean is that people who used to suffer from it (for example) are afraid that their thoughts will destroy them again. There are some people who, when being depressed, are afraid of their own thoughts. it just depends on a person.
      I feel so sorry for you :( Take care.

    • @geekista
      @geekista 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      it has nothing to do with depression I think ... it's more a personality thing, she's an extravert, extraverts hate being alone. im an introvert, being alone is necessary for me ;)

    I really love your videos!! You are soo wise, although you are still very young. I love how you just do the things, that need to be done. You are honest with your self- at least you are trying a lot (as far as I can say you are succeeding). I think your soul is a very old one and has been alround for many years. You are a very special person!!! Please, never give up being yourself.

    Mimi, you hit the nail "Compassion for other people" we are missing this so much from one another. You inspired me sooooo much with your thoughts, messages and teachings. I thank you for sharing these values to all of us, we do not have to totally agree on all topics all the time because we would then become robotic. May God bless you and Alex and bring you wonderful things for New Year. Big Hug

    Great video Mimi! I never accept people's excuse of allowing "society" to dictate life. We have to take on our own self and become better in our heart and be better to ourselves. I love the idea of authentic living it sounds beautiful but it's a lot of "self" work and self conditioning the mind and heart.

    You are so right, that to have results you have to do things daily! Motivation to practice mindful habits (healthier eating, exercise, meditation) is something I have always struggled with. Sometimes I do very well, but I am not consistent enough. I do find it interesting that for you being alone is very difficult, whereas for myself I find the opposite. I am possibly too comfortable being alone, but as I get older I find I am getting better about trying to put myself around people as well. Thanks for the thoughtful video!

    I totally agree that each person is fully responsible for his or her decisions and actions. I disagree with what you said about we are the only ones who can save ourselves. God is in my life, and he saved me from my misery. I am still responsible for my actions, but He guides me and helps me through things I would never be able to do alone! Much love and support to you, Mimi!

    I feel like our lives come in seasons and as the mother of a 4 year old and a wife, I'm in a different realm at moment. It takes a tribe to raise a child and I always fear letting go and absorbing myself in meditation and self reflection because somehow I feel that delving on a self focused practice would distance me from the necessity I feel to depend not only on myself as a parent but on my husband and our community to successfully raise our daughter. Every time I've felt drawn to self focus or meditation, I end up feeling afraid of being alone on the journey of self reflection and that terrifies me.

    This came at such an apt time. Especially since i was feeling a little out of control, and feeling like i have to do certain things or be a certain way just to be "accepted" or be "loved" or do something that is conventional or right by societal standards or by my parents standards. thank you for saying that I have full control over myself, and if there are things that are toxic in my life I CAN get rid of them, and I can be who i want to be, not what someone else wants me to be. Mono....meaning one. I understand where you're coming from. I lived alone for 5 years in a peaceful location high up surrounded by olive trees. I traveled around the world alone during this time. I feel like I was a casual monk and so close to God during that time in my life. Seeing you say good bye and get on a train alone was so liberating to see. Beautiful serenity is seen on your face. Thank you for this reminder.

    I totally agree with the whole "being born and dying alone" concept. I say this a lot to my friends and family, but they think it's somewhat depressing because they don't understand where I'm coming from. When I say "born and die alone" I don't mean it in a depressing or bleak way, but rather I mean it as a beautiful and courageous journey of truly knowing yourself. Thank you for reminding me of keeping on the journey of self-discovery and knowledge. Sending you lots of love! xx

    Hi Mimi! Thank you for the beautiful video, clearly you are a good hearted person and I enjoy your positive messages. I went thru some major anxiety myself and it was so overwhelming, my thoughts sped thru so fast, I felt tired, achey but also I felt scared, like you. It's great you are seeking ways to improve your circumstance, one thing that helped me is that I tried not to tightly schedule myself, I gave myself two things to do in a day. I work full time, and I traveled over an hour from work, so that day after work I had one thing planned. Maybe doing videos, or having to be the example constantly is exhausting you? You seem to have a strong minded husband, but make sure you are setting your own limits. I also have a strong husband, and you can't always keep up with them, please take time for you everyday. You don't have to be on anyone else's schedule, life plan or speed if it's not your natural flow. I wish you well on your journey to joy. Find what brings you true joy and go 4it

    Only God has the power to save us. That's why we as humans always have some kind of an emptiness inside. No matter what we do, at the end of the day we need God.❤️

    Could you do a video about meditation? In some video's you did mention it and showed it, but could you do a whole video about meditation? I feel like i'm in a depression right now, but don't know how to get out of it.. maybe meditation is the answer..

    Mimi, it would be amazing if you made a video about meditation: how to start, what to do when you're meditating, where to meditate, etc. lots of love 😘

    Thank you for helping me find some peace and solitude through your video. Although I didn't meditate or do anything except watch this video, i found the little "umph" I needed to get up out of bed and do something for myself this morning. ♥️♥️ xo

      +Shazzy1228 cut it out? how old do you think I am? No one is "fine" without God. You think you are but we all get to a point in our lives when we realise there is something missing and no material thing or person can fill that void..all the best to you.

      Erika Erika Hmm lets see survived homelessness, worked and went to school studying neuroscience, and recently got engaged. seem to be fine with a god. if u choose to follow one that is ur business. I have had no void and neither has my grandpa. that is a man who has survived a brutal war in his country. hes 93 now and still hasn't got to that so-called void you speak of. no god needed. there are plenty of other youtube channels of people who do follow god and a religion. you can follow them if u want to. I appreciate mimi's outlook because its like mine. that's why I follow her. u don't like her views. unsubscribe. and i'm 26 btw not a kid.

    Mimi! I'm so glad you made this vid. I hope you bypass all the distractive comments below and keep making videos about meditation and self-development and centering.
    I just got back for 7 days - also at a Buddhist meditation retreat. When you're in that environment there's so much opportunity to address whatever's coming up for you and utilize all the facilities just to go within.
    I can't believe that while I was there, I wanted the meditation to be more rigid and more intense than what I had. I was surprised to learn that I'm pretty sure I can do all silence and just a place for meditation for 1 hour three times a day, with journaling afterward. Thank you for reminding me of Vipassana. IBack in the fall, I was looking into it in the US and in the UK but everything was booked! So I didn't go but I'm going to look into it again. There are the Vipassana videos that both my friend and my Aunt recommended but for me I'd rather go to retreat. Cheers!
