Lyrics:
Into the abyss I’ll fall-the eye of Horus
Into the eyes of the night-watching me go
Green is the cat’s eye that glows-
in this Temple
Enter the risen Osiris-risen again.
Chorus: Tell me why I had to be a Powerslave
I don’t wanna die, I’m a God.
Why can’t I live on?
When the Life Giver dies,
All around is laid waste.
And in my last hour.
I’m a slave to the Power of Death.
When I was living this lie-Fear was my game
People would worship and fall-
drop to their knees.
So bring me the blood and red wine
For the one to succeed me,
for he is a man and a God-
and He will die too.
[Chorus]
Now I am cold but a ghost lives in my veins
Silent the terror that reigned-
marbied in stone.
A shell of a man God preserved-a thousand ages,
But open the gates of my Hell-
I will strike from my grave.
[Chorus]
Tell me why I had to be a Powerslave
I don’t wanna die, I’m a God.
Why can’t I live on?
When the Life Giver dies,
All around is laid waste.
And in my last hour.
I’m a slave to the Power of Death
Slave to the Power of Death…
Slave to the Power of Death…

I MISS THE SMELL OF A NEW CASSETTE TAPE! seeing the images reminds me of the day i opened this one up and was looking at the images and reading the lyrics. can still smell it!!!
Same here! But with the cd. I'm willing to buy all the Maiden studio albums in tape. I have Killers and Somewhere so far.
@@brunoterrosa7465 started listening to the long list of Maiden last night(thank you) because i saw a list of maiden songs in order from worst to best...165 songs! i disagreed with the order... so i wanted to remind myself. in your order of songs, i made it up to stranger in a strange land and gave up for the night. maybe its the age when introduced to maiden? not sure... but to me, maiden didnt exist until Bruce. i find it difficult to even listen to anything before Bruce. hearing the old songs sung by Bruce works for me, but original recordings dont. but my intro to maiden was number of the beast. my favorite albums are number of the beast, powerslave and somewhere in time. but that is also the years i did most of my metal days. have seen them live maybe 10 times. always a good show. amazing energy for old folks! i dont think i can find the time put in order 165 songs from best to worst or worst to best, but i do know the majority of them would be from the 3 albums i listed.
Maiden for life!!!
