Probably because it's Andy Crane, who would been presenting CBBC prior to Masterteam beginning. With the Broom Cupborard being the continuity studio, whoever was on CBBC duties doubled as con. announcer into either it or subsequently Neighbours.
floccinauci etc was from Catchword with Paul Coia. They gave you 3 letter e.g. F A T and you had to make the longest word beginning with the first letter and including the other 2 in the right order.
