Photos this stunning proves that you don't need expensive cameras and equipment for great results, they're more for convenience, I have the same camera, although I don't take as great pics as your, they are still beautiful. As a 17 year old who just got into photography, I just want to tell everyone else that you don't have to be discourage because you don't have the best equipment, be excited about proving you can still take great shots with it.
Thanks for the great comments and good luck on your photography journey - you are spot on about gear ! So many people get hung up on their kit but it’s all about spotting a composition, having the light and/or conditions and creating an image that tells a story or narrative, holding g the viewers attention and also being proud to hang it on your wall . Keep practicing which is my mantra and each day you will improve 👍🏻 Thanks again 👌🏻
I admire photographers who can do street photography and vlog about it at the same time. Great set of images Andrew. I really liked the reflective barge shot. Have a great weekend.
For me personally I’m a big fan of the type of shot you had of the lady walking with the bag past the street art of a lady with a bag. And the animosity that the rain brought along too, some fab shots in there - headless especially struck me
Thanks Dave and my aim for some images was to create that juxtaposition - find the scene / composition first and then wait ..... Gone Shopping was my favourite where that worked well and it actually creates a dialogue. I think faces and their characteristics provide for some great portrait style images but the anonymity images also leaves the viewer wondering. Enjoying learning this genre and thanks for watching Dave :)
More fantastic images Andrew. My faves were the colour cyclist, the two girls with the white wall and the guy with the pipe. The posed shot at the end was also great. Glad to see the rain didn't deter you. 😊
Big thanks Robert and the rain was a bonus in a way as it opened up more opportunities ! The Pipe Man was one of my faves also - plenty more to explore in this genre so expect some more films out on the streets ! Have a great weekend :)
This sort of work really provides a great running record of everyday life. I've been looking at some historic records of Nova Scotia, and it is the everyday in simply locations that I have really been drawn too. Especially making a comparison to how some places have changed over the years. Great work, Andrew! Bruce and Otis
Spot on Bruce ! One day we can look back on films like these and see snapshot in history I too love researching the past especially old images of local places and how they’ve changed over time. Thanks again and enjoy your weekend 👍🏻
That was great Andrew! Looks like a lovely city for this type of photography. I'd love to do one here but we aren't much of a walk-around culture here (too bloody hot). Loved the early images - "Giant Steps" and "Gone Shopping" were brilliant as was "In Step". Loved the reflective quality to the images once it started raining, and the girl who posed for "Joy" was wonderful. Great stuff as always my friend. This brought a smile to my face. Hope you and the family are doing well. Have a wonderful weekend over there!
Thanks Paul and I had a great time in Leeds while meeting up with my daughter also so a cracking day all round. Loved the rain altho that reduced any further A roll but I’m happy with video as is and enjoying the challenge of improving in this genre. Happy to bring a smile to your face and all the best to you all and have a great weekend too 👍🏻
Just brilliant again Andrew!! So inventive and original - loved these - the guy with the pipe just has that really evocative of the past look about it! And boy was it wet - very hardy you guys up there 😃😃😃
You're making this look easy, even in the rain! Great set of images and choice of colour or monochrome depending on the scene. I keep meaning to try some street photography - I live just over an hour from Cambridge, which deserves a visit soon
Thanks 🙏🏻 Had a great day out and Cambridge would be a great spot for some street photography Russ 👍🏻 Hoping to get out for some autumn photography but been laid up with a really bad cold for the last two weeks 🤧
@@AndrewHamiltonPhotography Get well soon. Just had my Covid Booster since I turned 50 this year! Off to Snowdonia tomorrow for a week for some autumn photography.
Hey, is this camera suitable for taking pictures of stars? I know absolutely nothing about photography so apologies in advance but I believe it's called Exposure?
hi may i know your camera setting for street photography bcs im using the d5300 too. especially the setting of af-mode, metering mode and release mode. thank you!
Hi - As a general rule but of course not always the case - Continuous autofocus mainly, centre-weighted metering. Aperture priority set around f2.8 - hope that helps ;)
It varies on what mode I’m shooting and whether I have the GPS tracker on or off (it uses plenty juice !) AFC v AFS makes a difference but I have five batteries so I’ve always plenty spare in my trips 👍🏻
It's something I've wanted to have a go at for a good while now Andrew and with the cost of living having rocketed recently, travel to the National Parks and other such honeypot locations has had to be curtailed so this is ideal ! Plenty more to learn and practice - Studying the genre in more detail I'm I'm looking at night time street photography , high contrast imagery, intimate shots (akin to some that you shot in your last film) and exploring the curiosity gap - anyway - thanks so much and all the best !
@@AndrewHamiltonPhotography I can definitely agree with curtailing expensive trips with the price of fuel at the moment. Apart from holiday vlogs most of my vlogs are filmed locally.

Hey, is this camera suitable for taking pictures of stars? I know absolutely nothing about photography so apologies in advance but I believe it's called Exposure?
I’ve taken many Astro images with the D5300 so yes it most suitable 👍🏻

I've stopped at 19 seconds, you better be in shorts ...... continue...
But of course 🤣
what has been your experience with the d5300's battery life?
It varies on what mode I’m shooting and whether I have the GPS tracker on or off (it uses plenty juice !) AFC v AFS makes a difference but I have five batteries so I’ve always plenty spare in my trips 👍🏻
Which lens???
Mainly the 24-70 f2.8 but some were with the 35mm prime
You seem to be getting into this street photography lark Andrew. Some really great shots there 'headless' and 'Giant Steps' being my favourites.
