@@ItsCaputo The first failure was connectivity. The lock became a keypad only. Unfortunately the keypad slowly lost responsiveness. After waking it, sometimes you’d have to wait 5 seconds or more before another button could be selected. My door is in an air conditioned hallway.
Neither Baldwin or Schlage withstood the elements where I live. Between direct sunlight and high humidity, none of them keep their finish for more than 3-4 yrs. For my front door, I’m currently on the second Schlage unit. First failed after 20 days; keypad failure. Second front door unit going on 8 yrs still functions, but the internal tamper alarm has gone insane. For 3 months now it sounds like I have an angry baby bird asking to be fed. Yes, it TWEETS, REALLY LOUD! Tweet-tweets randomly at all hours at the worst times (like 3 am or while watching tv). Wish there were a physical switch to turn off tamper detection. Oh wait there is, but it is fried too! It is unplugged now and trying to decide if it times for a Yale Assure or stick with Schlage. For those considering, keep this in mind.
What is your favorite smart home accessory?
I have two of these in my home. Love them! Great review
Thanks!
Just installed Schlage Sense which replaces the Kwikset (POS) that failed after 1-year. Much better construction and works great.
What was wrong with Kwikset that it broke so quickly?

Can I open de the door with my Apple Watch without having to talk to Siri?
I’m gonna trade in my august smart lock for this cause I’ve been having so many issues with my august smart lock
The august lock was good, but I am glad I upgraded to the Sense.

Interesting. I live in South Florida and this unit is in direct sunlight. I'll be on the lookout for those types of issues.
