- We all love succulents but our country being tropical, majority areas have higher temperatures and humidity as we start closing in on summers.
In this video we talk about how to start an early preparation for summers in order to protect and save your succulent plants.
We talk about the best time and propagation techniques and methods to multiply, reproduce and save your succulent plants from the summer heat.
We are also showing the difference between a propagation media (soil mixture) and a growing media (soil mixture) and how to use them?

@@TaruvarDrSSBhatotia Sir, common people may doubt, but it’s hardcore reality that I am having more than thousand plants of succulents, aeoniums , cressula and cactus. And around 500 plants of adeniums of which more than 50 are grafted. All this on terrace with ample space to walk. I am doing vertical gardening with 4 to 5 racks big stand.
I have seen thousands video on this but you are very special for me as I am from Jaipur and yours and mine environment and weather is very much similar.

In the month of September-October, do leaf propagation as their chances of survival are better.
In this process, after 3 generations in three years, the plants propagated from leaves will acquire immunity due to mutation.
I will also suggest to buy plants from such nurseries who are doing propagation and not selling plants purchased by them from mountain regions as they are not immune in our environment.
Second , soil media must be in accordance with Dr. Batodia’s guidance.
I have also lost all succulents purchased from kelingpo, West Bengal but I leaf propagation are still live .

This propogation is possible only when the plant is healthy.
Your plants are fully robust and will definitely produce healthy plants.
My trailing jade, sedum grass and pachyphytum oviferum were destroyed by pigeons (wind and net we had put got broken while I was away).
I tried propogating but it's so hot that they became mushy even before callous is formed.
I have given up currently.
Summers aren't kind to succulents.
I also use cinder but the succulents aren't doing very well in such weather.

Everything that he is saying is not entirely correct.. It basically depends on your local climate...
Hi Mr Tridip, thanks for your feedback. You are right, climate affects the growth and conditioning of succulents.
If you would have noted, at the start of the video we tell this that succulents are primarily plants of colder, low temperature regions. We also mention how managing them in higher heat regions like NCR is very difficult.
We are sharing our own observations and what has been working for us wonderfully over the years (as you can already see from plant health).
Our suggestions however still are generic and using them will at some level supplement growth and maintenance regardless of the region.
