Do you remember the OVA No regrets? In that OVA Erwin says this to Levi: Don't! You'll regret it. If you begin to regret, you'll dull your future decisions, and let others make your choices for you. All that's left for you then is to die.
The same thing happened in this episode. Erwin started remembering his comrades and started regretting his past decisions. That is why Levi made his choice for him. All that was left for Erwin now was to die.
This is a Top 5 favourite ep for me.

Levi's line to Erwin " Give up on your Dreams and Die" broke my heart. Especially when all this time, Erwin pushed forward for his dreams. Various occasions death would have been easier for him yet in the end he entrusted everything to the living.
