Yep. Women tend to be really competitive with one another, but in my experience, they check that behavior in public. This is a trip to see flying loud and proud sour grapes from the W.N.B.A. you know… the league that desperately needs an exciting new player! But they’re screaming the quiet part out loud… they can’t get past their own resentments or her getting all this attention. It’s sad, but totally in character for the league. They truly are a bunch of sour, entitled, obnoxious losers. Caitlin could breathe life into this sinking league, but they’d rather tear her apart from their own childish envy and extremely thinly veiled racism.

It increases suspicion for rigged games by refs. BTW because someone disagrees with you does not mean they are jealous. That is a sophomoric response. "They don't like me!." Death threats. Cruel misogynistic insults. Racisl hate. This was the welcome the Hawkeyes had to the finals. . . It's going to be a sight when all of these fans of other teams, who try to lay claim the popularity that Caitlin's fame brought, crow racism or whatever victim take when the viewership of women's ball drops in half, or worse. They won't know that they undermined women's basketball themselves.
The sad part is they won't even know that they undermine their own teams. The viewership will be dropping not only because Caitlin is gone but because of how they treated Caitlin, Hawkeyes, Iowa, and women - This week both she and her teammates had to deal with an onslaught of racism and threats which is just shocking for a group of girls who've done everything right, play the game in a beautiful way, organically grew and develop their team, conduct themselves with good citizenship and charity off the court. And of course also the narcissistic coaches of the paid for all-star teams always had sideways comments about shooting 40 shots per game or can't be the GOAT without a championship ( talking out of both sides of their mouth saying she's great, but). So the toxic fans of South Carolina, LSU, UConn etc. will get what they asked for - now they can keep winning meaningless rings and awarding themselves meaningless coaching awards but no one's going to be watching.
Clark showed what people want to see, and it's been seen before with Jordan, Bird, Magic, Curry - people want to see players who are loyal to their team and develop a team, not stacked All-Star teams, and they want to see players who play with sportsmanship and don't resort to snipes or violence and who are good citizens and uncharitable off the court. I think this is a symptom of the times and social media, for we can recall Tiger woods facing similar types of hate but it was mitigated by an overwhelming wave of support from the white community that drowned out all of the haters. Now it seems we're in the age where the haters drown out the appreciation of great sport, development, citizenship, and just love. If we don't fix this we're going to lose more than women's basketball.

Sabrina and Caitlin are both great players, some of the best all time in college. They just didn't go to a school of nothing but 5 star recruits like all of the other UCONN gang. Lot's of good players and great players in Genos time but they seem to think if you didn't go there and win titles every year, you can't be seen on their level. Like you said with guys like Bird and Steph, it is a greater accomplishment to be the main key and lead a team that never gets there than it is to be one on a team of all stars and win over and over. College is only four years and way different the pro leagues where you have 10 to 15 years to build a career and team.

Clark in fact was playing against 18-23 year-olds -- huge difference -- my gosh, she sounds like Sheryl Swoopes. When will these women learn their lesson? The jealousy of Clark by other women is unrelenting and self-defeating. If Clark succeeds all the women in the WNBA will make more money. We will see how long it takes Clark -- I will be very surprised if she is not 1st or 2nd All-Pro in her rookie season. 11 women in just 27 years did that and Candance Parker was MVP her rookie season -- let that sink in. The gap is not as big as they make it sound for the great ones. Taurasi is almost 42 years-old -- she should be more concerned that Clark doesn't drop 50 on her one night then trying to take her down a peg. It's not Clark's fault that she is more exciting than Taurasi, gets a log more publicity, and makes a lot more money. This was a mistake by Taurasi because Clark has Michael Jordan's brain and we all know how Jordan used the smallest slight to motivate himself. SMH
