    damn it charlie i wanted u to defend sumo! sumo wrestlers are required to be able to do a full spit, and can hold their entire weight in planks and shit. they are actually peak powerful, and while they dont do mma style fighting (punching and kicking was considered "dirty", sumo is primarily a shinto religious ritual turned into a no-weight class all division thing), they have to push literally hundreds of kilos around, and even toss it. imagine if mma fighters were lifting 200 kilos and yeeting em out the ring. its at least not lame.
    that all said, i dont give a fuck about that archaic ritual, as a japanese person the sport deserves criticism but the athletes deserve credit. I only want to defend against the idea that sumo wrestlers are weak or incompetent, they aren't but sumo can go.

    • @andeeepain4145
      @andeeepain4145 4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      I dont know too much about sumo but I think that being able to fight with restrictions is also difficult and like you said they are pretty strong(they might be fat but that doesnt mean that they dont have well developed muscles). I may be wrong but thats how I see it, if someone is more knowledgeable please correct me

    • @Sharethepain
      @Sharethepain 4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Indeed, many people belittle sumo as a bunch of fat guys pushing each other around but they are in fact in peak human condition, underneath the fat they have muscles of steel and train tirelessly every day because its their job. I cant think of many other sports or martial arts that require such extreme body conditioning.

    • @moistman3110

      @@blahthebiste7924 Hi I know this comment is old but I never replied and now I'm bored so why not.
      While I agree that you should not expect to much from the story in the BL games(it's not really what you play them for), the characters and story paths in BL2 was at least somewhat interesting, and Jack was great.
      In BL3, the characters just annoyed me and they made Lilith the most boring and bland plank I have ever witness, the actual somewhat interesting characters were wasted, After the brother dies, it's like he never existed in the first place.
      After picking up the game again I also realized that they did not really do that much with the guns, they kinda just felt like BL2 guns with some admittedly fun passive to it.
      The planets felt kinda empty and as you said, the lack of raid bosses(and good bosses overall) was a big letdown.
      I enjoyed it a lot more the first time playing through the game but over the years my view of the game has diminished.

      @@nadiakeaton5680 Well Doug is just telling his own experience, He said he almost never experienced hate for being fat. And judging a persons beliefs on whether they may have been serious or not on a comedy podcast is kinda weird, And even if they said the most outlandish shit and were being serious at the end of the day it's their opinion. I'll be very real with you, I'm not the healthies individual, I'm 15 years old, 5'10, And 163 or so pounds. Before the pandemic I went like 3 times a week to the gym because I personally just want to get to a point where I can personally accept myself. Btw I'm not saying that being a bit more chubby than average is the worst thing in the world, In fact there are a lot of people who actually prefer people like that. All I'm saying is that in my eyes I would be a lot more comfortable with myself if I had a bit more muscle, And I'm not working on myself just because of public perception I genuinley just want to look better because of my crippling insecurities.
      Edit: Also I just want to be clear that I'm not denying the existence of a stigma about not being the perfect body type there definetly is especially in America. When I was younger I was very overweight and got bullied because of it but then I ended up not being overweight thanks to my sudden growth in middle school. I realize being overweight as a kid isn't healthy nor is being overweight as an adult healthy either so I'm not saying that being 5'2 and being 500 pounds is awesome. However I believe that if somebody is a bit more hefty than average than who cares?! It's their body!

Anyways just like the commentors who are saying that Doug doesn't understand jacksons sarcasm, i guess I may not understand the sarcasm either. But if by the off chance it wasn't a joke, then yeah I have all right to give my opinion. Although its a comedy cast, there are times where they give a serious answer.
