Well done, Alan, once again. It is so important that the horrific crimes committed by the Nazis are not forgotten. I agree with you that if the original camp buildings cannot be preserved, they should be fully photographed, documented, and even rebuilt in honor of the victims who were forced to build it. The true scale of the Nazis horrendous crimes must not be swept under the rug! It is because of these insightful and well researched videos such as this video that will not happen.
I really enjoy your work, you travel to places I will never see either in real life or in documentaries, your viewpoint and commentary is spot on everytime. thank you for your efforts and hard work.
Hello Alan! Fantastic video! It's fascinating to learn about these early concentration camps, how they looked and what purpose they served,as far the inmates was concerned. By that i mean were they just inprisoned and locked up the whole time, or also subjected to forced labour! "The Beast of Belsen was infact Josef Kramer, but anyway, the impression that Dachau was first official camp is a common view i think, myself included, but you say it wasn't, very interesting! What was the first concentration camp? Also the Oranienburg concentration camp, was also an early camp, but was it a "wild camp "? I always thought it was something in between! There is a story i believe about Oranienburg, i don't know if you have heard it? I cant quite remember how it went but it had something to do about the guards in Oraninburg was trying to prevent some german troops entering the camp for some reason, and it ended with fireing exchange! Talking about concentration camps, i saw a documentary years ago about this subject, in detail they talked about the evolution of the camps, for each spesific year, from 1933 to 1945! They talked about how the different camps functioned, were they were ( contries) what kind of prisoners they percecuted and incarcenated in the specific timeframe, and of course the culminatinon from concentration camps to exterminaton camps ,very interesting documentary, sadly i don't remember the title of it! I have to say the scenery you referring to here at Sachsenburg, is very nice, the river for instence, i agree with you! And another thing , i believe you said it in an another video, i think it was in one the Treblinka videos, that said ( i am not tryin to quote you, correct me if i am wrong) but you said something that the contrast between having attrocities combined with beautiful conditions was something that the nazis did! I think they were aware of that ,and "used" it to make it easier to come to terms with, during their actions, and also to calm the victims. But still, thanks for your videos on the subject that are posting, and have a nice day!

Sorry I missed the premiers today!,
H N Y 2025 love the channel, love the history that is not told.
Was it Kurt von Schleicher?
Yes it was Kurt Von Shleicher
The chiseled features - no feeling
I think that the correct adjective to use would be "impressive" when describing this footage. Do wish that you had included a few shots of the inside.
