I was wondering what was going on each time we came up to bus stop and everything just went so quiet and then it dawned on me that perhaps the bus is newer than 2016 or 2017 and indeed it's 68-reg which will mean that it's likely to be fitted with the Intelligent Stop/Go system which therefore means that it's designed to cut off the engine when the driver stops to let people on or off, thus cutting back on pollution and saving fuel plus I am sure it must help both the driver and passengers hearing without an extra source of noise.

I only ever see them types of busses commissioned for the Lancaster uni route and the heysham towers route, the only ever busses I see for the Lancaster bus station route is the older buses, so that’s weird how you got that type of bus for that route!

Sometimes there’s few newer Enviro400MMCs running non university routes, like 40/41, 42, 49, 55.
