We finally have some action in tier 7 today. It's time for a battle between Soviet heavy tank IS and German heavy Tiger I. IS has a big alpha damage gun, while Tiger has better DPM and mobility. Let's see which tank is going to win, Soviet or German!

One of the advantage of IS is that it can use peek-a-boo tactic quite effectively, while Tiger I is more suited for brawling with its thick armor

Tiger is a 1v1 tank.
IS is support with big alpha dmg.
It's more team-dependent than Tiger I.
Tiger is more like a medium in my opinion with that mobility and thin lower armor

In the 1v1 segment your IS didnt equipped with the top 122mm so the reload could be a second or two longer ( the 122mm from the kv1s have a bit pointy muzzel brake compare to the top one)
Recently got me an IS-7. Before I did I heard people say that it’s an outdated line to grind, especially the IS-3. Tell you what, starting tier 6 to tier 10 I had all kinds of fun. Kept the IS-3 and I’m gonna eventually get KV-1S, IS and IS-8 back. IS is a great tank tier to tier in good hands. Peek a boo tactics with a bit of side scraping will get you damage and enjoyment.
True, though I never had an IS tank before, which lead me to buy the IS-2 (1945). I've heard it was a pretty bad tank for some obvious reasons (one being the slow reload speed), but I had the courage of one of my friends who told me it was an amazing tank. In which he most certainly did prove his point, I had so much fun in that tank even to this day. So basically like any other tank, you have to know how to use the tank, otherwise you're gonna have a bad time.

Yea with his heavy armor than is is a ligth medium tank

DPM, penetration, accuracy, the almost impenetrable turret face, and the mobility+armor combo, yes the Tiger wins hands down.

Now, try IS VS KV-3, they are both quite similar except that the IS is more on mobility while the KV-3 is more on armor
KV-3 is also good hulldown with the strong turret, tiny cupola and 7° of gun depression

Tier 7 winners are Black Prince, Tiger I, 45TP Habicha and AMX M4 Modelle 45 because they have fast reloading so the IS, IS 2, Ju To, T29 classes only win damage but losing to reloading, indeed big damage can kill easily but sometimes you have to lose to tanks of the same tier that have small damage but fast reload
It’s funny that IS is the design and built in the response to the German Tiger. (That’s why Tiger II exist to counter IS and IS-2)
And yet in WG POV Tiger just out class against IS/IS-2 (Yes, IS with 122mm gun is considered IS-2, it is the IS-2 design in Early War period)

Fun Fact, the Wargaming's IS in the soviet branch is actually the IS-2 Model 1942, and the Chinese branch IS-2 is the IS-2 Model 1944
And there is a Russian IS-2 1945 model

From my experience with both i would say the tiger is better for brawling and the IS is for sniping. I even used to get trouble fighting the tiger with the IS3

tbh the gun isnt the maxed one the t8 gun is more better than the normal one due to fact how good the tank is but it can choose two guns the stock or the 122 gun if u want dpm pick the stock one if u want alpha pick the 122 one depends on how u like it

this is a weapon for is govono it is better to take a weapon for 280 damage, there is a cd faster and penetration
Try BP vs Tiger 1 and see who has the better dpm and armour, but not mobility.
IS might be worse than tiger 1, but overall IS is so much more fun to play. It is really fast as a heavy (especially in mid tier, which alot of heavy tank is slow) and have big alpha. It's armour is not that great but the speed and alpha is what makes it so good
Is this video outdated cause the target ring in my fully upgraded is is several times larger than the one here, especially when peek a boing.
How is your aiming circle so small? I have full equip to decrease aiming time but the damned thing cant hit anything unless in brawling range.

From my perspective tiger 1 has a higher chance kf winning if you angle the tank correctly its hard to penetrate it the tiger has 1400 hp at stock and 1590 hp at Max its a great tank to grind for it is quick and reloads its gun quick

Is line is for hit and run .... forget IS there are many times when i kill tiger 1 by kv1s ....i love Russian heavies but i hate kv4. With kv4 you cannot kill anything but you win by blocking damage and give time to your friends.

tiger 1 isnt overated, and t29 is a very bad tank, it has bad mobility,bad gun,and a decent armour with big weak spots, i killed one with full hp with a tier 6 arl 44

In reality the IS had more superiority bc it's thicker and angled armor plus its 122mm gun, Wich if aimed the least perfect could destroy or inmovilize a Tiger
