Thanks for the video. I iwll be coming up on my 7,500 mile oil change soon. Got my 2023 Ram 1500 in January. Man do they make this truck difficult to work on! Changing oil in this truck is kind of messy (more than most vehicles). I actually had to take my truck to the dealership this morning to replace a blown fog lamp (dealer only item). Thank God it was under warranty.
Get a Fumoto oil drain valve with nipple and hose and it will be a lot easier. Also change oil a 5k at most. Your engine will last a lot longer than 7k oil changes.
You should see how bad some motorcycles are. My old Honda filter was in front of the engine and surrounded by exhaust pipe. You couldn't avoid oil on your exhaust atleast a little. Mid 2000s yamaha had a filter that was flush mount to the side of the engine so whenever you took it off oil ran down the side of your bike 😅
Thanks for this! I was gonna take it in, but now I'll do it myself after your tips.

I'm getting an EZ drain plug where I can hook a hose to it, this mess will drive me crazy.
A modern truck that doesn't hold almost 10 quarts of oil

From the manufacturer, with full synthetic oil, it calls for oil changes every 7,500-10,000 miles under normal driving conditions.
@ your right it does but they want to sell you another one so they don’t care as long as it gets past the warranty
what a mess! some plz slap these engineers for oil drain plug location
