I think the woman who said “people need to take responsibility for themselves” has got it spot on. We all know how it works with the police in Benidorm, as for the peamen this con has been going on since the 18th Century how can anyone not know.
Lucy - we have just come back from Benidorm & didn't experience any problems but walking back to the hotel at night a lot of people seemed to think my name is CHARLIE ! This only happened at night in the busy strip area but is not what most people want to see occurring- keep up the good work lovely Lucy.
Many foreigners have arrived in Belgium in the past 30-40 years and you can see this in the insecurity and thefts, etc. This is the same in Lloret and Benidorm etc... However, it won't stop me from living in Spain one day. I went to Benidorm a long time ago, I had a very good time there and I recommend it to everyone to go there. You shouldn't put your smartphone on the table, that's dangerous or people walk around with a hip pocket and/or around their arm, don't do that, they robbed a good friend of ours in Lloret De Mar. Don't go to a bank contact alone and certainly not when it is dark, because they threatened and robbed another one of the group.
Yes..people who "has that religion you know and me" are the worst. But it is everywhere in the world. Benidorm is safer than any place in the Uk where there are many muslims mayors runing some big cities...Tht´s crazy. I saw Bristol cathedral with thousands muslims people praying .....Spain can be saved , Uk is lost. My opinion.
For the love of god do not pay chip and pin anywhere on the strip.. I did, next thing I know 30 minutes later there were attempts on my card for over 3000-5000 euros..they were successful with just under 1700 until they took everything I had.. oh and my phone was stolen. Police response... oh yeah we know that location they do this all the time, would they take a report?? no...
Was a little side bar, the transactions came up as abrudnikus or something.. dread to think how many others have had this happen. Can only imagine they did some form of preauthorisation swipe or something. Just use cash or Apple Pay and it shouldn’t happen
Great video. Gary had his phone pickpocketed when we were there a couple of weeks ago which was our first direct experience, but as many have said, if you have your wits about you I still feel perfectly safe in Benidorm.
Just got back home yesterday after 10 days in Benidorm and never witnessed any crime whatsoever. I think if you're on your own and worse for wear you are probably inviting trouble, but that could be said for anywhere in the world. If it's true the strip is policing itself then the real police obviously need to be doing more.
Excellent presentation Lucy. It all comes down to using common sense, particularly when drink has been consumed in large quantities and the guard is down. Think and look ahead. Spot them before they spot you. No phones on tables; no flashing cash; leave precious jewellery at home; no rolexes. Nothing wrong with a bit of bling!! It is still a great resort and safe for the vast majority.
Hello Lucy, it's really nice to hear those lovely Seniors to talk about the impact of Social Media as a real rise of crime. Benidorn definitely is not a place where you have to become Clint Eastwood or Charles Bronson to go out to the street.
I'm waiting fir my plane home after a week in benidorm with my family, the amount of people offering drugs and selling drugs is out of control and they don't care if you have kids with you,The police must be involved in this as they could easily catch these people but they are just left to do it same as the muggers that have been doing it in the exact same places as they were when I went 12 years ago!
Watched the 'cup' game people, bunch of pickpockets in broad daylight. Plain clothes police could sort this .Police need to get their act together on prom .
My parents were in Lloret De Mar in October 2023. In less than 7 days there were at least 87 thefts. With all due respect; There have always been thieves there, yes, but it has become much worse now. Those are facts. There are many strangers who wash up and steal at those tourist places. People who say that's not the case don't know any better. I am 100% sure that almost no one knows that there were 87 thefts in Lloret in less than 7 days. My parents found out about this from the police. It never used to be that bad. I hear a lot of selfishness; People think we haven't come across anything yet, so neither have others, you see, it's not that bad, so that's nonsense. I would still live in Benidorm, it doesn't deter me. In Belgium, in our major cities, we have the same problems. Many foreigners have arrived in Belgium in the past 30-40 years and you can see this in the insecurity and thefts, etc.
The problem of this type of robbery throughout Europe, we already know, is the Bulgarian and Romanian mafias. There is a movement in Madrid and Barcelona with increasingly larger groups of people going out to hunt them. They have them all photographed. Many of these mafias are beginning to move to other places. Benidorm is an attractive place for them, crime can increase until a group of people comes out to hunt them, as has happened in other cities.
Great vlog Lucy. We have recommended Benidorm to all our friends and some have been put off when they tried it. We been going a long time now and know where to go and what to expect. The biggest thing is walking down the strip and been offered Charlie etc by staff from bars trying to entice you in!! They must know it goes on but turn a blind eye. We for one will never go in a bar where the staff offer us this! Also we have our own small TH-cam channel and find it funny when walking down the strip with our GoPro we get offered nothing 😂
I go to beni about 5 times a year Never seen a crime or heard about it. Always feel safe there. Just hope now I'm not tempting fate. As always lovely vid. Thankyou.
Compared to the uk where crime is through the roof due to mainly immigration the region of alicante is pretty ok, i always feel safe, crime in this region tends to be drink/drug driving, dodgy dealings when it comes to financial things and corruption. Benidorm is of course going to be different as its a large holiday resort so naturally expect drugs, violent crime, fighting, drinking probs etc in benny.
Hi there Lucy, loving the video as usual. I think people need to be vigilant and aware of their surroundings, take out only the money you need ar that time and keep valuables in hotel safe. Never witnessed anything in town and regularly out till small hours of the morning.
We love Benidorm and we haven’t witnessed any crime or anything when we have been there. One of the times outside Morgan’s Tavern there were loads of police waiting outside when it shut. But we wasn’t aware of anything happening. I’m not denying it happens, as I believe it does, but it happens everywhere. To be honest people are warned of the danger areas and bars to avoid yet they still go the them. I feel safe in Beni and it won’t put me off coming ❤
We’ve been to Benidorm for over 20 years and never seen any trouble, never been approached for drugs and never seen any fights. No doubt, like anywhere else on the planet there will be crime but personally never experienced anything bad. We always feel safe in Benidorm.
Been coming to Benidorm since 2008 and violence is not that common from my experience but did get burgled in an apartment one year.Have only been approached on the main strip at night for drugs. Not anywhere else.
I call bullshit on this statement I just came back from Benidorm two weeks ago every single bar promotions teams where asking if I wanted sniff and seen loads of trouble so I think your talking bollox
@@WarrickHunt I didn't see any trouble but over the weekend i was there, I must have been asked about Charlie (cringe worthy calling it that) about 50 times, no joke.
@@alexcartwright9536 there was six of us mid 50s still like to get down with the in crowed if you like. So we don’t mind loud bars and clubs we used to be ravers back in the day. We seen a few altercations going on up on the strip and the square. And seen a fight in the silver doller and explorers bar with gypsies the place was full of gypsies aswell .Me and the wife where getting asked if we wanted pills or sniff at midday when wen we where walking about looking for lunch . And nighttime was horrendous every two mins being asked. We have been going to Benidorm every April with our friends for the last 13/15 years This time we felt on edge a lot and unsafe every night we went out we thought it would kick off Booked salou next year never again to Benidorm
I think the people in this video said it all. It’s a bustling holiday resort which attracts these criminals for the easy pickings of the few vulnerable people. You will get this in any major holiday resort or city. Unfortunately it’s the world we live in. On saying this I am a regular in Benidorm and as long as you are careful, especially at night around the strip, you will have a great time. I love Benidorm 😎❤️
We’ve been coming to Benidorm at least twice a year for over 10 years and yes, we do get offered drugs on the strip, especially in the last 3 or 4 years, which surprises me because I’m in my 60’s, but I just politely say no thanks or ignore them. As with anywhere, I am careful not to wear expensive jewellery, never put my phone or bag down, and wear my bag on a crossover strap and keep it in front of me, with my hand firmly on it! The latter was learned the hard way because I did get my phone and purse stolen in Beni, on the strip, walking between 2 bars, in 2018. I was sober, my bag was over my shoulder but not across my front, and someone unzipped it and took them out without me feeling a thing! So I’m much more careful now! I have to say that the police in the station opposite the Flash were extremely helpful and friendly when I reported it the next day. I think, as was said on the video, that the secret to staying safe is to not get too drunk, stay together and keep your wits about you. And only have the bare minimum of what you need out with you. And that applies to anywhere in the world, not just Benidorm.
Great report again, I have been to Benidorm many times love it, but not seen any problems, I am hoping to drive over later this year. As I am now retired and have the time to do such trips. Cheers
That is the problem; You see nothing, you hear nothing, you think it's okay but that's not the case. It's very nice for you that you have never been robbed or threatened, but unfortunately other people have. Only, you have no knowledge that that happened on such and such a day. My parents were in Lloret; at least 87 thefts in less than 7 days. People they knew very well had been robbed. 1 person was threatened at an ATM and had to hand over his money and who knew about this from the other tourists? Nobody, nobody.
I wish the police would stop the criminals offering you Charlie on the strip. They’re not hard to identify. People should take responsibility for themselves but also the police should be doing everything in their power to make it the safe for tourists.
Police have to be involved, no way these guys could be offering this every night every year and not get caught. We are offered it all the time same guys. We were offered Charlie from a young cockney lad we refused it so he offered us a Spanish woman for fun FFS, she was just sitting there, he also offered us his business card lol wish we had taken the card to show people because it was so blatant. All this was in the middle of the afternoon
@@LucyYoungTBE far right in Spain are growing, and they're the only ones who demonstrate they've had enough of the degeneracy and crime. But when far right rise everybody cries and attempts to shut them down. The circle goes round and round.
Where there’s open sale of drugs then crime will be attracted. In the last 5-6 years there’s been a real increase in the number of pushers on the Cll gerona as well as an increase in pickpockets roaming the resort. Thats not to say it’s unsafe as yet but it is trending to attract more unsavoury characters
Great video again from Lucy THANK you (and you made the sun come out and the weather changed for us 8th May for week) hope to see you at Triangle bar working Lucy from Tc and Gal one 😊🎉🌞🍹🍺
Been coming for years. Doesn't seem much differnet crime-wise. The BIG issue that makes peope think crime is increasing and ruining the place is the bar touts offering hard drugs. If makes peope think theres organised crime taking over. There needs to be a major clampdown on bar owners employing these idiots. It's dragging the whole place down. Much more than the pea men.
Been lots of times. Thankfully no crimes seen. But Pea men, drugs being offered day and night and prostitutes of an evening, extremely common now. Think I'll take a few more precautions, next time, when it comes to my cards/phone in particular and definitely at night time. Normally in a group, but do occasionally go back to the hotel etc, by myself. I don't see why the police, can't do more, against the drugs being offered, so blatant.
On my last visit a few weeks ago I was offered drugs by the guys who try to get you into the bars and clubs, also as I was a male travelling solo I found night time quite challenging and had to be vigilant at all times, I try to avoid the girls who hang around in twos and threes, not sure if they are sex workers or robbers but for sure when they see a male solo they try their luck, fortunately once you raise your voice it seems to put them off as they try to be discreet, not a great situation and I try not to let it put me off going again because I love a holiday in Benidorm
Good morning your Holyness. Now Lucy a very important subject. i personally the last two visits have being approached to buy drugs. But i do feel safe in Benidorm to a point. The problem i don't drink nothing against people who do and when you go on holiday that's part of it but Drink changes people and after just a couple you become easy prey now a Drinker won't admit this but i see it all the time and very late at night you nowadays wouldn't be that safe in your own hometown never mind in a Holiday location so that's the Grim reality .They used to say one time Beer in Brain out .These criminals know who is easy prey .Sorry if I've upset people .Good Luck Lucy. David
I’ve never felt unsafe in Benidorm but if you plan on having a big night than that always increases the chances of bad things happening, i just think today the world is a crazier place everywhere, great video though!
I went to Benni last year and one night I was on my way home in the Old Town when three Northern Irish blokes (judging from their accents) just set on my and knocked me out and kicked me around the floor. They never stole anything from me even though I had a good few euros in my wallet, credit cards, mobile phone and my Omega watch on me. I can confirm what people said in your video about the Police not giving a damn!! This has put me off going to Benni this year, but I tell myself this could have happened anywhere, and I need to get back on the horse, so maybe I'll go later in the year. Now I am much wiser and leave expensive trinkets at home and I've bought a cheap phone so all is not lost if it were to happen again!
My single friend in his 70s has just come back from Benidorm and says he was approached by 'ladies' most nights, when he refused a couple of guys came up and offered him boys and drugs so he looks like they are working in tandem, possibly organised crime? It seems worse than previous years he thinks as he usually has a week round this time most year and also in Tenerife which is similar.
I think the last woman you interviewed got it right...we have to take responsibility for ourselves when it comes to crime. Don't carry valuables, stay in a group of friends etc.
Last time I was in Benidorm I stayed at the hotel orange and was meeting my mates in the shamrock, I was offered drugs at the top of the strip had to walk past a guy who had been knocked out and was lay in his own blood, then offered drugs again at the bottom of the strip. I never take my phone out with me and leave my jewellery and watch at home, I separate my cash into different pockets and have never had any problems take care and you will have a great time...
Be wary strolling through the markets that's where pick pockets are working in teams. Also another type of robbery, always check your change & get a receipt in bars if you suspect that you are being overcharged. On my last visit in March twice the barman left me short giving back change in different bars.
when my father was alive, we used to come 2 times per year, 4 years ago we were on our way home after an evening out, my father was disabled so he didnt drink much, we had our last drink in Buddies bar, then went up the side street with the spheres along the side. he tripped and ended up on the floor, as he was a big man i could not manage to raise him myself, so these 2 , ladies of the night, came over and helped me lift him up, when we got back to the hotel. paraiso 10, i found that my phone had gone and also e30. my dad had his wallet took. this time i was there and i was offered some 'charlie' as they call it, outside the red lion. not for me i told them and carried on walking. i think the police should have extra officers out in plain clothes so the thieves cannot distinguish them from holiday makers or police.
I don't frequent the British tourist areas of benidorm due to the high volume of drug dealers. It's very intimidating. I've been coming to benidorm for years. The police don't want anything to do with it. The bouncers on the doors are extremely aggressive and you have a large gang of Pakistani men dealing cocaine along with a small amount of Europeans selling drugs. Benidorm is slipping big style. I fear for benidorm. My ex wife's mother has a caravan in camping benisol and that's getting worse up there too. Nothing has changed that much in terms of the tourism benidorm is attracting. It's all booze and drug fuel parties that have destroyed benidorm. It's 110% corruption by the police, mafia and street dealers.
Been to Benidorm 10 times (over a week each time) and have never had any problems. Only time I have seen trouble was outside the Red Lion 5 years ago when the bouncers was beating up a young lad on his own. Other than that though, I would say Benidorm is very safe but would advise people to keep aware, as I have heard of pickpockets over the years.
In Spain the police are obliged to go if they receive a complaint by phone. Everything is in our hands. We must call to report when we see something suspicious.
I had my purse stolen from my bag in 2012 luckaly i did not have all my money in it i had ninety euros in it left the rest of my money in the apartment safe i olso now a few other people who have been robbed
Been going to Benidorm since the 80s I’ve never seen any trouble there always felt safe I just keep my hand on my wallet when the pea men are about but that’s about it
I think if you're naive enough to be flashing your cash, card, or phone about, then someone is going to take advantage, no matter where abouts in the world you are. People also need to be aware not to get themselves so drunk that they're unable to get back to their hotel. They might as well paint a target on their backs.
Saw the pea men while visiting in April, also got offered "Charlie and weed" while walking with my mother in the daytime 🤣That experience was new so yes I would say the crime aspect is getting worse.
Hi lucy 👋great video ,ive heard its getting really bad and do think the police should be doing more, last year we took our family and my son inlaw was pushing my grandson in his pram and a man came up 2 him and offerd him drugs 🤦♀️me & my hubby were also offerd them in daylight ,ive seen videos on youtube of police with cocktail men and all they do is take it off them and let them go 🤷♀️we are coming again in 8 weeks and im not botherd by it all you have to do is tell them to do 1 & walk away and just have your witts about you ,hopefully we will see you in 8 wks 😂❤❤xx
I think everywhere no matter where you are has it’s good places and bad. My own story. On holiday in Benidorm. I was in a shop paying for a gift and I got a phone call from the police, back in the U.K. (Telford) they told me they were sad to report that my father had died. I left the shop in tears to find my friends, by the time I found them I realised I had left my bag in the shop when I had paid for the gift. I remember placing the bag on the floor when I paid ( it was a backpack.) i had been gone less than five mins , got back to the shop they knew nothing about it, it had my beach stuff, book, iPod, a large black and red Ferrari Beach towel (this was 17 years ago) sun lotion, and a few other bits. The whole lot would be about £80 include in the bag. We walked black to the hotel, I was crying for the loss of my dad and the receptionist told me I had to go and report it to the police. I left my four year old son with my friends and found my way to the police station. I explained what happened and I was told to sit down. The officer who took my state, wasn’t nasty, however he wasn’t very kind either. I sat there with tears rolling down my face, trying to explain to someone who didn’t seem to want to speak English or couldn’t. I explained about getting the call from the police telling me my father had been found dead at my home but didn’t have a cause of death. This was a Wednesday , we were to fly back Friday. I wish I had never bother going, the office made me feel so uncomfortable, I explained the hotel had asked me to report the crime. He asked why I was crying and at that pointed I wanted to hit him, I had told him about the call and my father was dead. The moment I got out of the police station I burst into hysterical crying. But I will say no matter where you go you will find good people and heartless people. I live in Blackpool, took them two days to get to me when we had been burgled, because it was a busy holiday weekend. There need on the prom for the drunks. I’ve been back once since then, had hoped to come out this year. But struggling with the bills right now. Watching these videos bid a saving grace x
It's all about being aware of your surroundings. You can go out and have a great night without getting into a state that you become a target for the pickpockets etc.
It's all about what the last lady said. Don't even give them a chance. If more people were aware and sensible there would be much less for the criminals to take.
Lucy we are n Benidorm at mo we had a breakfast this morning in old town my father in law accidentally left his phone in a nice restaurant he went back asked for it they said no no haven’t got it. Called the phone 📞 loads of times text it and say please give it back all call police 👮♀️ I went back to restaurant in my own and said to one of the waitress have u got phone No no went up to another bar lady oh yes we have your phone hear something very odd with the restaurant becareful
Lucy I lost my passport in benidorm in February and the police were less than helpful, but as long as people keep an eye on there surroundings and think about what they are doing and how they are acting then they shouldn't have a problem
Just got back from Benidorm, no real issues in terms of threatening behaviour but if i had a pound for every club rep who came up to us and mentioned "Charlie" we would be able to afford another holiday this weekend 😂 Oh and there are prozzies just beyond Union Tavern every night after 2am (they should be paying you rather than yhe other way round)
Generally safe, however if you get blathered and separated from your group you will wake up in the morning without your phone and wallet. It's easy pickings for thieves just looking out for the likely victim staggering down the strip. Be responsible and you will have a great holiday. Also, Don't get into any sort of conflict with the bouncers in the new town strip.!!!
Crime happens everywhere. You have to look after yourself, don't carry excessive amounts of money or expensive jewellery and phones etc. and then get cabbaged in public. Don't deliberately put yourself in harms way. Looking for drugs or prostitutes or whatever generally means you're going to meet dodgy people. It's not new by the way, I grew up in Benidorm in the 80's and it was exactly the same then, it's just more publicised now.
I think it is safe over in benidorm i went over there last year on my own and i just kept my bag on my front and whatch when drinking dont leave your drink on its own and dont take things over with you if you are not going to wear it.And also stay away from the people who do the tricks with the cups because its a scam and they are pick pocket people .All together i like benidorm keep safe and keep smiling
I have been 17 times over the last 10 years Have seen a bit of trouble but not generally had a problem. Have been drunk many times and it depends how you carry yourself. I feel.
For a few years i used to go in the quiet months of Jan Feb and March, up to when Covid broke out..several times over the years I've seen older people being obviously 'stalked' by several 'ladies' with their coats over their arms, on the quiet roads/streets on the rear edges of the lively areas of an afternoon. Foiled two attempts by screaming across at two 'ladies', and once by asking some lads sitting outside a bar to go after and warn a couple of pensioners, who were Dutch I found out off the lads.
I have been to Benni regularly over the last 9 years ( 2 covid years i didnt) i was pickpocketed in between Marina bar and india gate by 2 romanian girls pretending to be prostitutes . Only take out what i need so not much . Also many times asked if i want charlie many times near the strip .Its much better in the old town .I can only reiterate take responsibility for yourself . Use the hotel safe keep your phone on you or leave it in the safe .
Just thought.. we were staying in Pueblo few years ago.. jet2 bus dropped us off .. an old man was getting hus cases . Took everything . They were targeting drop offs 😮
Petty crime ,was sat outside cafe on Wednesday by fountain,a fella grabbed my hat & ran of down towards beach front , hat was very old & tatty no big deal , just brazen
Saw a lad lose 400 euros to the pea men, then the next day a girl lost 40. There's a guy walks round with a clip board another scam but People are taken in. That's why they do it.
changed days Lucy, re: police not interested in the strip area back in late 1970's / 80's police would arrest tourists for very little, youngsters would be beaten up in the station and fined £100 in Pesetas standard fine then to get out of jail.
Great information thanks lucy , were coming in july ,ill have to convince my ,18 year old to leave her phone in the hotel when we go out at night ! We use cash and only bring out what we think we will need x Cash is King, dont take your cards out anyways, i dont take my card out at home but do use my phone x
We have been to Benidorm over a 100 times some times on owner own and sometimes with friends. Have only been in void in crime a few times the first time was in 1980 where the group I was with got into a fight with the a group of Spanish youths trying to rob the older people in our group. Then the next time was when my brother was out there he has been coming back to the hotel he was staying in and was ask by the lady's on the night if he wanted to have sex some times wright out side the hotel he was staying in other times in the old town. stayed away from the potato men. All the other times we have been out there we had a great time time and trouble free
Hi Lucy,I have met you,and almost know Benidorm as well as you lol.But you must know you'll see the local police cruising the the front, looking cool, shades on chatting. Apart from the pee men (gypsies) that live in those grubby houses behind the market area There is barely any trouble there, never have I seen them on foot, and never really cruising down Calle Gerona.Even the police on bikes are cruising in pairs, not the best use of resources I'd day? I would love to know there individual arrest & conviction rate,to see how effective or not they are...sorry but you did ask
I saw the police with sniffer dogs down on Levante beachfront in January. The only person the dogs picked up on was one of lifeguards on his way to work with his medical bag on his shoulder. I did think to myself at that point who are they trying to catch here? The need to take the dogs to the strip!
I've been loads and you're safe in the daytime, except for the pickpockets and pea men. Stay alert and you will be fine. Night time is safe if you stay in busy areas like the strip and the square, off in the side alleys is not a place to go for any reason at night.
Thefts happen there at any time, during the day, in the evening and at night. How it happened to an acquaintance of my parents in Lloret; the man had a kind of fanny pack around his arm. In the meantime, he was chatting to other people, while he wasn't paying attention, one was able to steal his money and cell phone unnoticed, those guys are trained, that doesn't take 10 seconds. And that guy didn't notice anything. Another person only went to a bank in the evening when it was dark; they chased him, threatened him and took his money. There are shop owners who work with them, the shop manager said that he could not pay with bank contact, which was a lie, so they followed him and robbed him. Don't leave your mobile phone on a table even if you are sitting there, it won't take 5 seconds before they take it away. Also in Belgium I see young ladies sticking their smartphones out at the back of their pants, ideal for thieves. Or in your vest pocket where they see that there is a smartphone in it, ideal for stealing.
Husband pick pocketed last week while we were there.200e and cards pinched a he's 84 while he was helping me get on my scooter. Finished with Benidorm for a while.
One crime the police turn a blind eye to is blatant and very obvious drug dealing, but late at night you'll see them driving very slowly along the beach doing absolutely nothing ... strange
Concidering the amount of people that come to Benidorm the crime rate is low. *Remember when you come on holiday That is the busiest time for theives* If there were NO HOLIDAY MAKES IN BENIDORM THERE WOULD BE NO THEIVES...... Be aware of what is going on around you in crowded bars streets markets ladies keep your bags zipped/ close and close to you. *DO NOT PUT YOUR BAGS ON THE BACK OF YOUR CHAIR ON THE CHAIR BESIDE YOU* LOOK AFTER YOURSELVES. I have noticed a lot of youngsters dance holding their drinks... Dont let your drink out of sight if you do .discard it ...
I lived in Brighton.... Couple of weeks ago there was a TV programme Police in Brighton what went on was far worse than anything that's happens in Benidorm
stay away from the strip at night ( full of dealers and shadey characters) , the yellow brick road the back of the police station at morgans ...mugging hot hot spots
I think the woman who said “people need to take responsibility for themselves” has got it spot on. We all know how it works with the police in Benidorm, as for the peamen this con has been going on since the 18th Century how can anyone not know.

We had the same, in fact i would ask 'Do i look like i do drugs, because i don't'

Yep and Lucy has promoted most of the bars where the drug dealing is taking place
Watched the 'cup' game people, bunch of pickpockets in broad daylight. Plain clothes police could sort this .Police need to get their act together on prom
.
Typical that 🙄
I go to beni about 5 times a year
Never seen a crime or heard about it.
You also have muslims mayors running big cities in the UK..¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡. WOW:UK is lost .
Always to have your wits about you where ever you go, lucy 👍
What a lovely bunch of people you spoke to, Lucy x
We’ve been to Benidorm for over 20 years and never seen any trouble, never been approached for drugs and never seen any fights. No doubt, like anywhere else on the planet there will be crime but personally never experienced anything bad. We always feel safe in Benidorm.
Great to hear ❤
We have been going to Benidorm every April with our friends for the last 13/15 years
This time we felt on edge a lot and unsafe every night we went out we thought it would kick off
Booked salou next year never again to Benidorm
Thankyou for covering that subject👍😊
I think the people in this video said it all. It’s a bustling holiday resort which attracts these criminals for the easy pickings of the few vulnerable people. You will get this in any major holiday resort or city. Unfortunately it’s the world we live in. On saying this I am a regular in Benidorm and as long as you are careful, especially at night around the strip, you will have a great time. I love Benidorm 😎❤️
❤
Cheers
Sounds great 👍
That is the problem; You see nothing, you hear nothing, you think it's okay but that's not the case.
Totally agree 👍
Most of the ones offering Charlie are the props working for the bars.
They will most likely be in on it..
İ,m from.Benidorm, yes it,s getting worse & remember in this country ,criminals r protected.
Same everywhere in Europe nowadays tbh.
Yes that's a big problem i think they have more rights than law abiding citizens. crazy world
@@LucyYoungTBE far right in Spain are growing, and they're the only ones who demonstrate they've had enough of the degeneracy and crime.
Yayyy see you soon ❤
Seen you while you were recording this video said hi very friendly keep up the good work good to be back fly home Friday
David
Its very true 👍
I’ve never felt unsafe in Benidorm but if you plan on having a big night than that always increases the chances of bad things happening, i just think today the world is a crazier place everywhere, great video though!
spot on 👍
Hi Lucy another great crime is every where does not matter if you are in benidorm or anywhere in the world need to stay vigilant
I'm here now and an old lady had a case stolen just outside the airport waiting for the bus to transfer her to her hotel.
What are your thoughts Lucy?
That's terrible 😕
Cheers lucy for your up dates.just got home had a great time there.no problems. 😊
Been going to Benidorm since the 80s I’ve never seen any trouble there always felt safe I just keep my hand on my wallet when the pea men are about but that’s about it
Great to hear ❤
Was in benidorm on Wednesday and was scamed in a tapas restaurant 😢 offered drugs openly
Vesta cafe has the best coffee in Benidorm.
Yessss ❤
Getting offered drugs every 10 feet at night ain't the best.
Thanks for the videos, im coming over in early June im warned!
8 o’clock in the afternoon??
8pm is considered the afternoon in Spain. Spanish people don't start saying 'good evening' til about 10pm
Lucy I lost my passport in benidorm in February and the police were less than helpful, but as long as people keep an eye on there surroundings and think about what they are doing and how they are acting then they shouldn't have a problem
Just got back from Benidorm, no real issues in terms of threatening behaviour but if i had a pound for every club rep who came up to us and mentioned "Charlie" we would be able to afford another holiday this weekend 😂
Oh and there are prozzies just beyond Union Tavern every night after 2am (they should be paying you rather than yhe other way round)
I genuinely must’ve been offered drugs at least 20 times per night it gets annoying. Puts me off coming back
Great video xxxxx
Very goods
I have been 17 times over the last 10 years Have seen a bit of trouble but not generally had a problem. Have been drunk many times and it depends how you carry yourself. I feel.
Been a few times and never seen anything , but I will still becoming in September
Look at the women nr Morgan late at night why don't the police do anything or are they taking
Hearing a lot about Spaniards not wanting tourists and some protests. Whats it like in Benidorm.
Its the Canary Islands
Morning Lucy
morning x
I like the presenter but this place is chav central
A have been to bendirom 10 plus times in my life and only crime a ever see is us drunk Brit’s lol always found it extremely safe
Great information thanks lucy , were coming in july ,ill have to convince my ,18 year old to leave her phone in the hotel when we go out at night ! We use cash and only bring out what we think we will need x Cash is King, dont take your cards out anyways, i dont take my card out at home but do use my phone x
The service when busy in winners bar is shocking. Keep away 😢
I saw once a rebel girl going on roller skates to the opposite of the road, so yeah the crime is definately skyrocketing
Haaaaaaa naughty
No different to anywere else
I went to benidorm 54 years ago and vowed never to return,,,,,, I haven't thank god.
Is this in the day time or night time
I've been loads and you're safe in the daytime, except for the pickpockets and pea men. Stay alert and you will be fine. Night time is safe if you stay in busy areas like the strip and the square, off in the side alleys is not a place to go for any reason at night.
both were discussed on the video
How awful 😢
I know of no crime
One crime the police turn a blind eye to is blatant and very obvious drug dealing, but late at night you'll see them driving very slowly along the beach doing absolutely nothing ... strange
Keep your wits about you in Benidorm and never get to drunk ie my phone got robbed🙄
any news on scam cash machines been shut ny spanish goverment
The unlicensed machines were sent notices to be removed or get licensed. I think most got licensed. I saw a few go but not many
are they following up to see how many have done so
@@edwardturner6230 i would imagine so
Been 12 times never an issue at all
It's the cocaine capital that I've ever seen omg the bars and the men out side every 1 min wheres the police
Hotel cleaners.
It's a dump 👍
