A village with no connection to the World

Join us on a captivating journey to a remote village nestled in the scenic landscapes of the West Tripura district in Tripura state. Established in 1970, this small village, once flourishing with 16 families, has experienced a stark decline in population, leaving only 8 families struggling to sustain their way of life.
Our ground report aims to shed light on the challenging conditions faced by these resilient villagers, who continue to rely on Jhoom cultivation as their primary means of sustenance. However, despite their unwavering commitment, they confront numerous obstacles that threaten their very existence.
The absence of road connectivity and other essential facilities has isolated the village, making it inaccessible to basic resources and opportunities for growth. We witness firsthand the difficulties faced by the villagers as they navigate treacherous terrains and endure long and arduous journeys in search of essential supplies.
This year, an additional hurdle presents itself in the form of an alarming shortage of rainfall. The villagers, dependent on the monsoons for their livelihood, find themselves unable to sow seeds in their fields, leading to a potential crisis.
