Mooseheart Boys Visit 2024

Representing what our great fraternity does best - providing for our children and our seniors!
On June 5th, a group of bright-eyed boys from Antoinette Marinello Home arrived for a week-long visit to #Moosehaven, bringing with them a wave of youthful energy and joy. They were greeted with open arms from Moosehaven residents and staff with a fabulous welcome party which was also our May/June Birthday celebration.
The boys had a busy week with trips to the St. Augustine Alligator Farm, a trampoline park, and a beach day at the #Jacksonville Beach Lodge, and mingling with our residents. On Sunday, they attended services in the chapel, then spent time in our activity’s hall. The boys were given a tour of our train room, watched a movie, then played bingo in the Illinois building.
On Monday, the boys did ceramics with Vivian Borem in our activities hall and later enjoyed a visit to Camp Blanding for swimming, a scavenger hunt, and picnic lunch. The day ended at Lakeshore Lodge 2020 where the members provided dinner and games of corn hole for the boys.
It was another busy day Tuesday, June 11, where the boys they finished up the ceramic pieces they started the day before, followed by a little shopping in the Moosehaven gift shop. The afternoon was spent at Mandarin Lodge #42 for lunch and snacks provided by the members. The boys also had fun swimming in the pool at the lodge.
By the end of the visit, there was a sense of connection and happiness, bridging the gap between generations leaving both the children and seniors with cherished memories of their time together.
