Fun fact, there's three consecutive lines in firework that starts with "ah" "ga" "se", respectively. Jinyoung pointed that out because he said no one noticed it. 😂 he participated in the song.
Also, Jinyoung really made the rap line sing for that song. 😆

7 for 7 is such a beautiful and special album. Mark suggested they all get necklaces made to show their unity and friendship. 7 for 7! 7 or nothing! 7 or never etc. They all had necklaces made with their own special symbol(for example JB had a palm tree on his) etc. When the necklaces were put together it made the Got7 logo. Jay B wore his when they were doing their Homecoming FanCon and other comeback events. I have seen Mark wearing his too. The last time I saw Mark wearing his was when they recorded ENCORE. You Are is a beautiful MV showing their friendship etc. Thank you JB! The entire album is one of Jay B's favorite also. All the songs are theirs. Thanks for reacting to Got7!

Just wanted to let you know that you are absolutely right about GOT7’s lyrics being deeper and having more life context than they initially portray. Last year when speaking about his career as a singer and his album, Jinyoung said,
“Usually, I like writing stories from my childhood memory, anxieties I feel, thoughts about the GOT7 members, things I feel while living life, etc. It could be burdensome to listen to if I write everything as it is, so I worked on it, changing it to an expression of universal love, to make it comfortable to listen to.”
And I agree with you on your thoughts about the actual meaning of certain songs like To Me and Face. All of the members participated in the writing and production of each song on the album. To Me was written and composed by Yugyeom and when I first read the lyrics I immediately thought it related to a more personal feeling/situation. Like at one point he felt helpless when it came to others knowing his truth or feelings, maybe in relation to specific relationships or haters (or both). He’s written other songs with a similar context on his SoundCloud around that time, one I remember where he says, “no matter what anyone says, I know my own answer…I’ll keep going if it’s with my fans and my hyungs”
Also, it’s funny that you kept singling out Youngjae on Moon U bc he co-wrote and composed the song. He goes by the pen name Ars.

Oh also the necklaces in the You Are MV were based off of their irl custom friendship necklaces. They’re a lot more flashy than the ones in the MV lol if you Google “got7 friendship necklaces”, you’ll see them. They got them around this time and they held/hold a lot of meaning. This entire era does. It was the era right after Jackson started his solo career and started receiving a lot of hate and antis were saying he was going to leave the group or wanted him to and that GOT7 was over. A lot of their “7 or never”, “7 or nothing” talk was significant around this time. It was also the first time Jay B wrote a title track and it didn’t perform as well as their previous songs, so he took it to mean he was lacking and was hurting bc of it. Anyways as always, I love your GOT7 reactions! Take care :)

Poor Jackson 😭 he’s received so much unnecessary hate for no reason. I just think everyone was jealous of his success as a solo artist while still being in a group. Idk people are so petty 🙄

My favorites are Teenager, and You Are but I also listen to Face and To Me a lot. I absolutely adore the live performances of Face, there's a certain performance of it where Jinyoung laughs during one of his lines and it's the cutest thing. Part of the reason I love this album so much is every song is worked on by a member

To Me 100% feels like it's about idol life, part of the inspiration for 7 for 7 is all the hate Jackson was getting for starting his solo career. People were spreading rumors that he was leaving GOT7 or that he should leave if he wanted to go solo. This was their response to all of that, that they'll always be 7. Unfortunately foreign idols tend to get extra hate so ATK have all talked about how much backlash even small mistakes seem to garner.
Some other extra content for this era besides the live performances are the Teenager and You Are dance practices and then they did a video called You Are van live which is funny.

That’s so frustrating that Jackson received so much black lash for wanting to further his career. I don’t understand peoples pettiness and hatred because someone is pursuing their dreams. I have noticed that ATK receive so much hate for literally no reason. It’s such a shame 😭

They have been through so much together from trainee time to debut etc to present. They are very close. They have been through good times and bad times together since day 1. They are friends/brothers/ family! Forever! Always! Got7!
Youngjae loves songs related to the moon. One of his nicknames is Daldi which means moon in Korean. Moon U and others. He really did shine on this! Youngjae wrote it. Beautiful work! Thank you Youngjae!

I love this album. I love all the songs but my fav You Are, Face, Fireworks and Moon U. The more you listen to the songs, it just gets more better. I love choreography to You Are and Teenager 💚
7 for 7 was a really meaningful album. It came at the end of 2017. The flightlog trilogy had just wrapped up and there weren't anymore full group prmotions for a while. JJP had come back with Tomorrow/Today which was about being at a crossroads and wondering how to move forward (highly reccomend! It's my favorite mini album to this day) and Jackson had just set up Team Wang and was promoting solo in China, and a little afterwards it was decided that he would stop being a part of Japanese promotions because he was too busy and the scheduling simply wouldn't work. At the time, there were a lot of rumors that Jackson was about to leave Got7 for good. Jinyoung was also beginning to take on larger roles as an actor. Because of this there were rumors that members might be leaving the group or the group was going on hiatus..ect. So after a year of nervousness, they dropped 7 for 7, written and produced by the group and full of songs about relationships and not letting those who don't matter affect you.
To me 7 for 7 isn't romantic in the slightest, not even Teenager. In the end, Teenager is about having someone who makes you feel nervous, yes, but also excited and energetic, which I think is what the GOT7 members mean to JB (who wrote the song). JB has been pretty open about not always being sure if he's doing the right things to lead, he's just out there trying his best, and well, I think it's pretty obvious that excitement and energy was definitive of GOT7 when they're together. lol even now when they're doing solo work for different companies, when they get together they shock their managers because of just how different they act as a unit. Got7's energy bar isn't additive, it's exponential XDXDXD

Youngjae wrecked my bias list in this era too! Haha. This album also further blur the lines between rappers and vocalists since all of them sings or raps depends on the member who composed the song.
I also feel like GOT7 lyrics especially Jinyoung’s are challenging to translate cause there are words or messages that was not put to words properly.
It’s a Jaebeom composd song whenever Jackson is in the chorus. ;)

Teenager is on this album and they did a performance for a music show(end of the year I think) They wore school uniforms and it was sexy and so good. They also did a dance break with it too. It was either MBC or SBS. Please check it out. You can thank me later. Enjoy!
