Epic! If you want the best of both worlds, you could consider a cut-out valve directly behind the cats. That way you'll bypass the rest of the system, get the sound out directly underneath the cabin, reduce back pressure in the exhaust, and still be able to enjoy refined motorway cruises in absolute silence when you shut the valve.

Every product has a budget and when that product is so widely distributed, the focus becomes a little diluted and too user friendly. Personalizing your vehicle is a fantastic way to transform your mundane commute into something that is stress relieving and potentially a lot of fun. The majority of new vehicles intentionally isolate you from any kind of “fun”. If only he had this exhaust modification on a wot switch...

Years ago I was fitting a new exhaust to my 635CSi. I found I'd got the wrong U bolts. Had to drive with only the exhaust manifold across Aberdeen to buy new ones, the noise was amazing ;-)
If you ever feel like going with the best sound in a 760 in the E65 range you should x-pipe it. The subtle, but very raw sound of that is hard to beat by anything and could in fact be one of the best enginesounds I've heard ^^
You will enjoy the noise for a few months and after that, on the odd occasion but the drone will annoy eventually you if you daily it. Had the same on my CL600. Put the original mufflers in. The best option is just get a good compromise with an aftermarket system.
This is the best sounding v12 I have heard in a long time !!!I may convert my Mercedes cl600 to a single mine does not sound like this at all lol great job
That is pretty extreme. But it's a good job. 3.5" pipe is correct. Looking at the old system I might have been tempted to just adjust the rear box so when the OEM valves open it becomes louder ie delete one of the rear boxes.
Hahahahahaha. Dude WTF! This is epic. Time to get that all mapped in to make it more efficient. Is the gearbox tunable? Something tells me you need to have less of the lazy gear change the current box has and more of a quick shift one so on the downshifts it will really scream!

The best thing about this custom system is there’s only one weld point, so the stock exhaust can be put back on very easily in the future!

Its easily reversible, and I doubt this car will ever gain the status of the e38 as a classic.
