I would love it if these made it to the game. A way they could be implemented is to have it so that whenever you unlock a drop, there would be a 15% chance for it to be a painted drop of the same rarity that only unlocks items in the colour of that drop. My idea of what the painted drops should look like is to have the top half stay the same and the bottom grey part change to whatever colour it is. Also multichrome shades are from the Fornax series, not the item shop. (5:25)
So I think I might know why the uncommon tw thermal appeared. Originally, thermal was a non crate import and could drop in any colour after a tradeup. With the drop/tradeup update after f2p however, they removed painted import thermal from tradeups and drops and converted it to an uncommon boost that couldn't come painted. So during your tradeups, the game must have dropped the uncommon boost because it knows about the thermal having an import form whereas drops might be able to only give an item's "newest form" (in this case the uncommon form) only which made it appear as uncommon. Bit complicated, but yeah. Nice vid!

Yeah the item id for thermal was in my drop but when the game spawned it, it made it uncommon 😂
