    a lot of critics have actually said they don't know how to categorize stray kids' music because of their unique structures, switches, and genre combinations. at one point the korean media gave them their own genre name and titled them "the pioneers of the mala taste genre". they described mala taste (originating from the word "malatang", a popular chinese soup) as fluid but spicy music that will satisfy all the senses.

    This song is about the confusion that you feel when you fall in love. Falling in love is really chaotic and like a rollercoaster and the production matches exactly that, the slap of emotions that come with love and the hesitance (why do I keep getting attracted) and the beat changes like doubt, it’s like when you change your mind about that love from wanting to ignore it to hating it to accepting it and the MV also has that theme. Theres a part of skz that want to trap the love monsters and trap them like criminals (police officers) and another part that is falling in love and there’s a moment where they pull the plug but seungmin rewinds the MV so they go back to the love and to accepting it (I’ll hold you so I’m never letting go)

    the fact that this song was singing about the the overwhelming feeling of being in love for the first time and was also giving the same vibe through the music itself is crazy!!

    thank you. Yes stray kids don't follow the normal pattern of songs with genres, beats, sounds melody or placements. LOL they love to experiment. Han said in an interview this was the first song he didn't write the rap lines but he did focal on the melodies. This is their first love song and it is so them. LOL If you think this song has so much then you need to react to their newest b-side song Super Board which they just release today the m/v for it. It took me about 3 listens to it before I could wrap my head around it and love it. .

    It's their mission for this song to mix as many genres as possible into it, making it a song that no one ever heard from anywhere. And they've made it successfully.

    I know it is not a music video, but their teaser for their NoEasy album is a great as their clap back, but in a hugely funny SK way, at critics that call their music noisy. ❤ Regaurdless, they are the most creative in their music production and music videos compared to any other Kpop artists in the industry.

    I absolutely love the transition from the bossa nova in the first half of the second verse to the heavy hitting bass & rap in the second half--it honestly just sums up Stray Kids perfectly. It really is such a _Stray Kids_ thing to do, so much so that even though it caught me off guard when I first heard it, it sounds completely natural whenever I listen to it again.

    stray kids is not as much popular in korea as it is in other countries because they critisize them of making noisy music. there is one called side effects that is kinda old where they got so much hate from it haha. they did an album called noeasy which sounds like noisy with many clapback songs like the one you already heard thunderous. many people found stray kids with their song god's menu. they started getting more and more popular after the release of that song so i think you should check it out!

    The unpredictable, chaotic structure reflects the lyrics and overall theme of the song -- confusion, conflicting sides, disorder.

    You might enjoy checking out Taste off the new Maxident Stray Kids album. It doesn't have an MV but it's the first song largely written and produced by Hyunjin (another member) instead of 3racha. He's been studying production for a while and Chan (who makes the beats for 3racha) has been working with him. Now we're finally hearing some of his music.
    Hyunjin and Chan made Red Lights together but Taste was largely just Hyunjin (two other members did write as well but productuon wise it was mostly Hyunjin). It might be interesting to hear if there is a different style of sound or still some of the 3racha structures. It's a really great song and the first time Stray Kids have fully tried that kind of style too.

    • @Zay_Stayy
      @Zay_Stayy ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Didnt Felix and Minho help write taste? Spotify says Bang Chan produced taste.. To be clean I am not saying you are wrong I am just confused

    • @HJasmin
      @HJasmin ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@Zay_Stayy I'm pretty sure (and I think, I've read that somewhere else several times) that Lixie was in charge of the english lyrics, but Hyunjin wrote most of the song in general. As for composing and arranging, when I think back to the credits of taste and chris' live stream today (in which he also talked about how much he worked on this song) , I assume that chris mainly produced and versachoi mainly arranged taste. But I'm not sure regarding composing and arranging

    • @AmalaFrequents
      @AmalaFrequents ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Zay_Stayy Yeah they did, that's what I meant by two other members wrote as well, but Hyunjin got his name first on the credits unlike the usual age order listing because he conceived the bulk of the track and idea etc. I think. I was more focussing on that side of it tbh, Hyunjin made the demo then Chan refined it, but it was one the first we've heard where the track started with Hyunjin versus Chan which is cool.

    • @Zay_Stayy

      Do y'all happen to know if they (Hyunjin, felix, Minho) did the dance for taste? It looks like they're style.

    I'm just gonna have to say thisvsong is amazing for a title track.
    I love everything about is as the vocals and raps are in point as ever and Jisung is just completely wreckig me this comeback what I mean by this is he has jumped straight to being my ult wrecker (I'm not ready to have 3 ult biases in SKZ yet) and this man just does something to not only my ears when he raps but also to my eyes.
    I just love the way he raps as to me it's unique in a way.
    Also I gotta give my love to my two ult biases Felix and Hyunjin as they also did such an amazing job.
    The MV is everything I needed and I love the use of the colour pink aswell as it's one of my fav colours also I'm loving the story aswell and the lads did something they haven't done before and that's having a love song as the title track.
    Also 143 means I love you in Internet slang so this song is basically called case I love you.

    you said "i'm glad they're taking it back a bit and it's not in your face all the time" and it got me thinking. because you're right, i think it would be too much if they didn't take it down a notch every now and then. skz have gotten accused of making noisy music before (and to spite the haters, they released the album noeasy which is a wordplay on noisy) but i think the noisy thing would be kinda justified if they didn't have those calmer parts. some of their songs really are loud and sort of chaotic with beats that are cool but also incredibly "much". the calm parts is what give those songs their flavour and what makes them stand out. hm, i liked that sentence. also, congrats on getting into them, welcome to the fandom

    I love Stray Kids. Every time they do even better. I know when this album first came out, some of their diehard fans were confused by such an extreme change up. But the more attention we paid to it, the more we absolutely loved it.
    It's crazy, they have a way of making songs that you love MORE as you listen to them. Not less... I think this comes from the guys doing everything themselves. In others words they know how far to go with the production.
    Just like what BangChan said, about the song "Venom" and how their songs are most definitely quite "sticky" since you are unable to forget them. How it wraps itself around your mind, and then you are just kinda... Glued to it! Heck, you find yourself glued to them, period!
    So basically, if it sounds good to them considering it's the 10,000 time they have has to listen to it while in the creation process. Not to mention their desire to STILL not HATE it after the sheer number of times during promotions, award show stages, and concerts in which they will have to perform it. Then chances are, we will be much the same. After all, we are fans for a reason... We truly do love listening to it as much as they loved making and performing it. Stray Kids, and their producing subunit 3RACHA, are truly amazing. 🖤
