    I had a STREETGLIDE. But I got tired of looking like everybody else. Now looking back, I think that I brought the STREETGLIDE because all of my friends had them and ROADGLIDES. This time I didn’t get swayed by the crowd. I test road the STREETGLIDE, ROADGLIDE AND THE INDIAN CHIEFTAIN LIMITED. AND I GOT RID OF MY HD AND BROUGHT THE CHIEFTAIN. MUCH BETTER BIKE IN MY OPINION

      I thought the Chieftain Limited was a great bike. What won me over was the setup with the infotainment and gauges. I just thought everything was intuitive, easy to read, and very clean. Such an impressive machine!

      It was my first time on Indian motorcycles, and they were great! From what I learned from some of the riders there, who had been riding them for years, they agree with you! Thanks for watching! 🤓

      It is an amazing bike, both in design and in innovation. The latter is where I would probably go for it over a Street Glide. Hope those pennies add up quickly! 🤓👍🏽

    Harley better catch up. Im a Harley guy myself. The Chieftain is inbetween a Street Glide and a Goldwing. You get best of both worlds. I believe the front wheel is 19". DarkHorse sure is sexy. Wish the Indian head on front fender would light up though to whatever color led you want. Go check out the review by Adam Sandoval.

      Oh damn!! You're on to something there with the Indian head!! That would be amazing!! And, yeah, the Dark Horse with the Thunder Stroke 111 is the real deal! I'd totally have one in my dream garage!

      If you like the "inbetween a Street Glide and a Goldwing" have a look at the 2019 Roadmaster - look at the burgundy metallic one... I have SUCH a hardon for than girl... I wanna ride her all day and take her home and..... yeah... cold shower time, be right back.
      LOL,,,, seriously, the '19 RM in burgundy is beautiful (if you like that Goldwing full tour style).
      I wish they had a burgundy for the Chieftain! (I just like the low-slung bagger style a little more than the full-Goldy style)

      @@PAULY-P Gotta admit, just on the pix and videos of them, I'm preferring the Chieftain too. A little concerned about the heat output from the engine and cat/pipes... I hear they both run very hot (and that's a deal killer for me, sadly). Still... I'll get to a dealer and test ride someday soon.

    At idle rear cylinder shuts down to keep it cool not for gas mileage!

    • @thatoneguymoto
      @thatoneguymoto  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks. I had another viewer mention that, but I appreciate the confirmation. I mentioned that, because the Dodge V8 Hemi introduced something similar to preserve MPG, where they would shut off two cylinders (I believe) at idle and when going stoplight to stoplight.
      Thanks again!

    The cutting of rear cylinder is standard on Harleys too will with the touring models. It's not for fuel but guess it do. It's more for the heat it keep it from getting to hot

      Thanks for the insight on this. I read about it, before I went, but couldn't remember the exact purpose behind the rear cylinder deactivation. Thanks for watching! :D

    Enjoyed the demo ride. I also have demo rode some of the Indian motorcycles and was very impressed with how well balanced they were, at low speeds. A limited dealer network here in Canada, would be my concern . tcrs.

    • @thatoneguymoto
      @thatoneguymoto  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would really attribute the top-heaviness I experienced to the front fairing, but other than that, it really did feel very well balanced. As far as dealer coverage goes, the closest dealer I have to me is like 45 minutes away, so I would be hesitant to buy, as well, but I bet it's even worse there.

      @thatoneguymoto  6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I only said I thought the fairing was making it feel a little top heavy. I really enjoyed this bike and gave it a ton of praise, far from a negative review. Sorry you took it that way. Thanks for watching! 🤓👍🏽

    I’ve heard said, “Imitation is the best form of flattery”.
    The Chieftain looks like a nice ride but I would imagine that a Harley-Davidson Streetglide would be a much more visceral experience.

    • @thatoneguymoto
      @thatoneguymoto  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The H-D culture is much more prevalent, but I see more and more Indian Motorcycles on the road and at events. It really comes down to preference, IMO, because both the Street Glide and the Chieftain are solid choices.

  • @serious_in_seattle6917
    @serious_in_seattle6917 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The bike is NOT top heavy. Compared to other similar bikes, it’s center of gravity is MUCH lower. It’s the opposite of top heavy. I don’t think you know what your talking about. Also, rear cylinder deactivation is for reducing heat. If you know anything about big v-twins you would know that can be a problem.

    • @thatoneguymoto
      @thatoneguymoto  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Brian Marty I said you could feel the weight of it, but I wouldn't call it top heavy. Just my opinion. Someone previously mentioned the purpose of the cylinder deactivation. Pretty cool. Thanks for watching 👍🏽

    It was nice when Indisn tried to be different from HD but it sucks now that they are cloning them!

    • @thatoneguymoto
      @thatoneguymoto  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I thought the styling was still different enough, and even the sound of the exhaust was unique. In the end, they've got to sell motorcycles, and there is a certain formula that works. I mean, I love Harley's, and in my opinion this bike and the others I rode on the demo truck definitely earn the right to be considered.
      Thanks for watching! :D

    • @michaelbrangham8914
      @michaelbrangham8914 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Its funny how everyone claims HD cloning. There are only so many ways to make a motorcycle,. That would be like saying Toyota is cloning Ford becuase what... they made a truck with 4 wheels and a bed... its a motorcycle, they are all similar in some regard. if you are an HD guy then you should be happy that there is more competition. thats what makes the industry succeed and improve. In this instance, its a motorcycle with a handlebar mounted faring and saddlebags. Different power-plant, suspension, electronics, rake, lean capabilities...etc... dont complain about it, enjoy the fact that we still live in a world that allows us to ride fantasic machines like these beauties

      Nothing about this bike seemed chintzy or cheap, and from what I've watched, read and heard, Indian bikes have really turned a corner. Victory's had a reputation with poor reliability and I believe they were also under the Polaris umbrella, so I totally get the concern.

    • @SureshockMerKz
      @SureshockMerKz 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My 06 Victory Jackpot is still running strong, but it's your choice not to want an Indian or Victory. Not wanting a Victory is pretty understandable to an extent.

    • @sixchuterhatesgoogle3824
      @sixchuterhatesgoogle3824 6 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      @@thatoneguymoto "Victory's had a reputation with poor reliability" says who? Harley fan boys? In 2017 Victory was the #4 most reliable motorcycle brand. Only the Japanese brands were more reliable (two of them shared the #2 position). That means Victory was more reliable than Harley and all of the European brands. Victory owners routinely put over 100k miles on their bikes. It's a travesty to call Victorys unreliable.

    • @thatoneguymoto
