I had to learn this the hard way as I progressed in elementary school until they broke an optimistic kid into a timid and shy kid who started looking behind his shoulder all the time to see if someone was going to shove him to the ground, or just make a damper on his already bad day because he had to go to his terrible school, he couldn’t turn to the staff because they would just make them say sorry or they would come up with some lie and get me in trouble and I fell into a depressive state where I just didn’t like life and I felt powerless and nobody would here me just because in the staff’s eyes I was a kid who they called a trouble maker because I planted my feet and pushed back when I was done being pushed around
