January and Feb temperature drops to under 10c. You should go to Horton Plains ..there you can feel even colder. But March/ April is our hottest months as the sun is directly above SL
The Grand Hotel original building, a single storey bungalow, called 'Barnes Hall', was constructed as the holiday residence of Sir Edward Barnes, the fifth Governor of Sri Lanka in 1828.
British didn't rule the whole Island for 150 years , close, around 130 years to be precise. Also the British were unable to obtain rule by succeeding militarily/by war/combat. They tried and failed until there was a coup against the Central King who caused instability in the kingdom because he was an Insecure Alcoholic killing off the local central aristocrats. This lead to the local Aristocrats helping the British capture the central kingdom finally after failing multiple times. That too without a fight and by treaty (1815). So in the end the local central Aristocrats helped themselves more than helping the British by getting security under British rule and thereby ousting the King ! The beatings the British got were so brutal that there were anti-war songs written in the UK/Ireland during the 1800s about the brutality of the wounds sustained by UK/Irish soldiers trying to capture the Central Lankan Kingdom in their failed military campaigns. Check out the song named , "JOHNNY I HARDLY KNEW YE !!!"
@@2Backpacks1Globe Yes, check out the original lyrics and the origin of "Johnny I hardly knew ye" , The character Johnny in the song goes to Ceylon (Sri Lanka) to fight in the Kandyan wars (Kandy was the true central and biggest Lankan kingdom) and comes back home mutilated. It's all mentioned in the lyrics and in the interpretations. Ceylon is mentioned by name. The song itself is about 200 years old.
I could imagine feeling really cold visiting if the temperature was 10-15 after spending a lot of time in warmer climates but if I’m visiting from the UK I’ll be okay 😃
Bro you hardly scratched the surface of Nuwaraeliya, there are thousands of beautiful cottages and massive landscapes of tea and gardens! Take a couple of nights stay in Nuweraeliya next time, there are many nice boutique hotels better than the grand hotel, try the tea factory hotel! Thanks for visiting Nuwera Eliya man! Enjoy your rest of the stay in Sri Lanka
Hello friend thank you for your British forefathers ancestors who came to our country and build railways and other strong building... 😂😂❤😅 tea coffee etc
@@2Backpacks1Globe send British people here again friend so we can build many railways strong buildings bridgers and each Sri Lankan family get their own houses and cars like English 😆😆😆😊👉👉👍😛😛😁
@@2Backpacks1Globe To be honest, those railways build to transport resources of Sri Lanka to Harbor. And take those things to Britain. Not just to develop the country. 😅 But It's very useful now.
