Robert Beaumont died on March 15, 1982 of a drug overdose, possibly cocaine, but not sure on the drug involved. Source(s): memory...I remember "the ides of March" and know it was 1982 as I was living in Hawaii at the time, working at a local television station and recall walking past the directors' booth and seeing multiple stock shots of Robert and Olomana on the wall of monitors. I hadn't heard the news and was so happy because I thought the station must be doing a special on Olomana. Then I learned the tragic truth.
