One time I unknowingly smoked a joint w pcp and i was tripping so hard I thought I could die. But I made it home to my room and got in my bed. Immediately grabbed my iPod and headphones and listened to this song. It’s so beautiful I truly felt like I would be okay listening to it in death.
i heard this song on a Kwes mixtape a while ago; at first i thought it was a Björk song (Aurora) when the harp started, then i was really frustrated because i couldnt find who sang this song!! until today… im very happy :)
i love this song opposed to others by newsom. it sounds so cute. and i think its just me, but i think her voice has a major contrast with the melody. but it seems to be so appropriate and i dont think there are many that can pull off that technique other then newsom. i wish i had the album.
This is my new favorite JN song. They're all my favorite, but I'm partial to this one. I love her voice! I hope she goes back to this style, her wisper-singing off her new album is nice, but this is more "signature" Joanna. I want to meet her so badly! BIGGEST FAN. LOVEEE HEEERRR!!!!!!! :D
Joanna said she doesn't perform songs that she no longer feels the conviction behind, and that is why some songs appear on multiple early recordings and some do not. I assume that means Erin lost her interest before Milkeyed Mender was recorded.
It's pretty good. Paul McCartney couldn't write a song for shit after he hit 30 and every other songwriter ever shares that general arc, somewhat. She might genuinely think this song is shit, but it's not.
@Stormith If you don't like Joanna's earlier work, you might like her most recent album, Have One On Me.. her voice is more developed and less squeaky.. I love all her work, so it's all the same to me. :)
Fuck this song has me crying in public its so perfect. My parnter is trying to learn it on harp. Thank you joanna for your art/lyricism for fucking me up like this
It was just natural back then when she was younger. Her voice is a lot different now due to a surgery she had to get. At least I think that's what happened.
Haven’t listen to this song in years. Reminds me of a weird time in my life I don’t think I can come here for A while again. What an amazing song
just want to say this is comment is the only beautiful thing I have ever seen said on youtube
same here :) come back, you'll love it
I could fall asleep on a rainy afternoon listening to her music. It's so soothing and surreal and fabulous. I love it.
automatic tears with this one for me. Just so beautiful

I never did pcp or listened to her when I was tripping but she could easily defeat a bad trip.
i imagine the walk to heaven is flooded with beautiful music, I'm sure this will be one of the featured songs

I love this song! If she re-recorded this on some future album, I would just die from joy... *o*

this song unlocks the deep anguish within me
-Such a good song. I love joanna. She is so beautiful:) her harp just adds to the beauty
Timeless

Yeah, whatever, this is better than her later songs like Paul McCartney increasingly sucks, and doesn't.
what is this song about i wonder that she no longer feels connected to it
How beautiful! I love her
Does this make anyone else feel physically sick to their stomachs with raw beauty and tenderness and grief
yes
it makes my stomach flutter
Erin across america
Is this joanna's most underrated song?
It's pretty good. Paul McCartney couldn't write a song for shit after he hit 30 and every other songwriter ever shares that general arc, somewhat. She might genuinely think this song is shit, but it's not.
This is my first time hearing it today 🥰
In my TOP 5 Joanna Newsom's songs probably in the TOP 3
♥♥♥♥♥
is it just me or does 2:47-3:15 sound kinda like cassiopeia? i love it

why is there no live performance of this song on youtube?
I don't think she performs it anymore.
Fuck this song has me crying in public its so perfect. My parnter is trying to learn it on harp. Thank you joanna for your art/lyricism for fucking me up like this
Upbeat tune
i love the part from 2:54 - 3:16. but you can't really hear those bass notes that well, unless you have good speakers or headphones
Her old polyrhythmic harp only songs are so much better with headphones, sawdust and diamonds is a good one for hesd phones too
my names erin! :D
It was just natural back then when she was younger. Her voice is a lot different now due to a surgery she had to get. At least I think that's what happened.
She had vocal nodules removed but also started seeing a voice teacher so she wouldn't develop them again. 6 years late but there's the answer lol
Meeee toooo! But it's spelt Eryn. I like this song :)
I’m an Erin (Errin).....I stumbled upon this and I’m....bothered LMAO!
@erins68 well, i guess thats her charm and her fall ya know what i mean??? D: lol
Joanna Newsom really sings - her voice is incredibly silky smooth! I prefer the Joanna Newsom against the Lady Gaga at all times.
aghhhhhhhh that fucking aghhhhhhhhhhhhhhghhhg
never undervalue the quiet times people ✌ srsly tho just give them a chance
Extremely sensual and melancholy! "Erin" represents central US and Midwest.

Her voice is almost as annoying as auto tune.
Let me guess-you exclusively listen to Aerosmith/acdc.
