I'm 33. I remember watching this as a kid. I thought I was so cool roller blading back in the day, thinking I was Mitchell. In hindsight I was his cuzzo... Stanley.
I just turned 30, and I remember having this video on VHS. I'd watch it all the time with my older brothers, and I thought these were the coolest guys ever. Fond memories of my childhood.
@@dbodooleyNot if the movie truly inspired them. If someone took up surfing or rollerblading and enjoy it to this day because of this movie then that's as good a criteria as any to consider this your favorite movie.
Watched this so much when I was a kid. I was all into rollerblading so I definitely gravitated to it. Been trying to find a DVD copy for a long time. It's a piece of nostalgia and my youth
I ❤this movie! It makes me want to go roller blading, but where I Iive it would be quite odd! I can't say that I've seen a 39 year old woman rollerblading in the streets or parks etc here! lol. The 90's were THE BEST time to be a teenager, especially for movies! 😀Well, I was 9 when it was released, but I saw it years later... His story here, about the surfing kid is a GREAT lesson! Followed by, "You get SO BUSY FIGHTING OVER waves, that you NEVER get a chance to ENJOY the ocean! Life's TOO SHORT for THAT!" Now, THAT is a WONDERFUL philosophy! He's DEFINITELY a SMART guy in comparison to the other dudes!
I remember seeing this movie only in previews at first. We didn’t have money to go to the movies when I was a kid. When it came on VHS my neighbor rented it and it blew me away. I just thought it was one of the coolest things ever. he was a cool kid but unpopular if that makes sense
I’m now 31 (born 1991) and Watching this scene again got me heated lmao. Now how can Jack be so upset with Mitchell when clearly his gf has been showing obvious interest in him. That is not his fault. Now him entertaining is, but he’s not. And Nicki is an asshole for not telling Mitchell that she’s Jack sister especially when mention that Jack doesn’t like him and wanna beat him up.

yeah, today's movies are better. he would be a transgender black rapper who just recently got paroled. and she would be a gay homeless white male pedophile from San Francisco who desperately wants to be impregnated to have a biracial child of his own, and finally gets his wish because anything is possible in today's Hollywood
I remember watching this at 10 years old, im now 36, and got the same vibes like back then, this movie is incredible
Agreed 💯💯
Agree. But I wonder why it don’t pop up in Disney plus
2023 and this still hits home
”You get so busy fighting over waves you don’t get a chance to enjoy the ocean, life’s too short for that”
yes we can listen to the video lol
That shit was deep for real. It was damn near poetic

Amazon sells it on DVD, at least in the US, just bought it a week ago

Such an epic movie!
Had the biggest crush on Brittney Powell in this film. Can't believe she was already 20 when this was filmed and a Playboy model.
Old school Rizz, conversations with a girl

Oh god Covid is so insignificant. Enough of this comment.
He's like Disney's Aladdin(1992) if he were reincarnaded into a surfer. Even sounds the same.

Mmm, Ive seen much worse in other movies. I think parts of that exchange were actually pretty realistic
You don’t get it
He's pretentious in real life. Very judgemental and obviously has lived a life of privilege.
