The Big Valley is an American Western drama television series that originally aired from September 15, 1965, to May 19, 1969 on ABC. The series is set on the fictional Barkley Ranch in Stockton, California, from 1876-1878. The one-hour episodes follow the lives of the Barkley family, one of the wealthiest and largest ranch-owning families in Stockton, led by matriarch Victoria Barkley (Barbara Stanwyck), her sons Jarrod (Richard Long) and Nick (Peter Breck), daughter Audra (Linda Evans), and their half-brother Heath (Lee Majors).

Forgot the days this aired back in the 70's . High Chaparral, iron maiden. Awsum memories of innocent childhood. Watched together with my cousin's after supper.

My top favorite for theme,actors,countryside life,english ,Timeframe what a delight.so happy to reunite with the series now on small screen,on demand.Earlier I had to wait in pre computer,cell phone internet era feel blessed living in this timeframe.
Of all the western TV serials put out back in the day this one was - Bonanza, The Rifle Man, Gunsmoke, etc. - I declare that this one is the most Glamorous of them all. I believe Miss Barbara Steinwick, the Barkley Matron, having had a long successful career in Hollywood A-1 dramas before this TV show came about gave the Big Valley it's central Star power. She was the main gem. To really appreciate Miss Steinwick in this role, you'd have to have seen the many films she starred in back when she was younger.
Btw, does anyone here bother to read the US Declaration Of Independence on the 4th of July, the month and day it was finally passed and made public after it's composition?
