Why you did not ask about your grandma. The woman was kept as a prisoner at her home and not to visit any where except her home. Kenyans did not know her until she died. So sad. These people we always praise them when they die and not the truth said about them. Moi was a dictator caused a lot of pain to so many families and children through their parents yet he claims to be a Christians. Kenyans must change this attitude of admiring people who have committed injust to others but given front seats in churches. This is the problem with living in a bubble. Which I guess it's hard to break away from especially when it concerns family. But sometimes you have to realize that people out there had different perceptions of your grandfather. And not so nice perceptions sometimes. Not everyone loved him. People were jailed, totured and sometimes even killed in his name. Yes it is good to say how best you remember him growing up. But keep the fact that he is a polarizing figure in mind.
Edit: Because you tell someone, he is very God fearing. Much as I don't doubt he was. The demeanor in which you put it as if to make it non questionable would make someone who new a different side of him scoff. Pray on Sunday, custrate Matiba on a Monday? Not very godly, is it?
