Greetings from Hungary 🇭🇺 to our brothers and sisters in Estonia 🇪🇪
I can tell by the sound and pronunciations of our languages that we are related but I sadly can’t understand any words.
Well its a spell pre christianity!
Omg, I've been looking for this song for probably three years!
I have searched for Latvian folk music, Estonia folk music, young Estonians sing in old fashion and God knows what.
I am drawn to this song in some strange way and love you Estonian thanks to this song.
Keep making music this way, though I don't understand what you're singing about, I love it!
I found you through th-cam.com/video/prADj9YcsFk/w-d-xo.html and it is so nice to not have to look for it anymore.
With love and warm greetings from Sweden!
Never give up diging deeper and deeper into youtube, hidden terasure everywhere! :)
XD
It sounds like something that I could understand, but actually, I can't... Beautiful song! Greetings from Hungary.
"Kutsikas"is "puppy" in estonian.
For me Estonian is the most beautiful language in the world. It sounds like something...elvish, maybe? Hello from Russia. Tere ;)
Defance92 ots not like the Eatonian evertone understands. Its võru or seto language (old Estonian language)
Actually it's neither :) Võru and Seto language are very different from the usual Estonian. This is a dialect, that was spoken in Rõngu, which is located near Tartu.
Lol,ok sa Eestlane
*naerab*
For me, it is one of the top 11 languages of the world.
Annemari Kruus seto ancient :)
Sounds like shamanic chants, such a cool language. Hard to decide which I like more, Finnish or Estonia. Maybe Estonian has a little bit more variety and color to it.
+Temesvári Hunor jep :P old estonian songs were kinda chanting... even this track name translates directly to "rain chant"
Mössi ih55tfdu
Because Estonian and Finish language very similar
Estonian is way better.
yeah logical
hello from Japan. I am studying Estonian language. Fascinating and agree with some here who say it is a beautiful language. I came across this song and cant stop listening to it, speciaally now that I know the meaning. I was wondering if there are more musics like this or even from them that I could listen/study. thanks.
Please note that this song is in somekind of dialect (not sure which one exactly). So are other folk songs, so be careful. One artist who has a very clear pronounciation is Sandra Nurmsalu - I don't know if she sings anymore, but I suggest to check out the song "Rändajad". There are many artists who sing in pure Estonian like Taukar, Liis Lemsalu, Getter Jaani, Grete Paia and so on. Find some lyric videos and hopefully these would help.
@@xanperia Aitah! I will look up for them. Cheers from Japan.
its võro or seto dialect

Me too. What's interesting is that I was adopted from Poland and I get Estonian in different DNA results including my chromosomes.
I really like this. It's so different it's pleasing. Greetings from South Africa
scri8813 google uralic languages. You'll thank me later
that poor girl keeps trying to get away from the singing freaks but they follow her everywhere
That's one way to put it :D
They're singing a rain spell, so the girl wants to get tanned, but they follow and bring the rain with em.

*Estonian angelic voices* ✌🏾❤️🇪🇪
Now it's clear, why rains are more in St.Petersburg than in Estonia. :))) "Go rain away to Russia, go away!"
+Ivan Johansson , it work as You see... :D
+Eve Lannajärv It's not good to send own problems to another people. :)
+Ivan Johansson , 1000 years ago, when people used this kind of witchcraft, there was a "wolfs law"- ouer magic is stronger, ouer weather is better... ;) But today... seems like heavy rain from St.Peter is here... Was it "вашe взялo"? ;)
+Eve Lannajärv You are too serious with my jokes. :)) Please translate those russian words, what do they mean?
+Ivan Johansson , there´s nothing serious on my mind, honestly. :) With those russian words I ment, that this time St.Peter´s spells were stronger and pushed rain (that we needed) to Estonia. Actually in songs words is also- blow rain to other lands because theyr grainfields are burning, theyr meadows shrivel; they are dirty among the others, like tar stumps ; go rain and whip/wash them. Equilibrium above all. Everythingis in balance. ;) even 1000 years ago. :) Or should I say "specially 1000 years ago" , because back then people noticed more needs of the others...
Is it me, or is this the most awesome "regilaul" i have ever listened to?!
Wow what a song! Listen 24 time! Greetings from Lithuania our Baltic friends
I latvian, bat very like estonian lengvigh😊
Ei suuda uskuda, et sellest laulust on 12 aastat möödas see oli mu lapsepõlve laul
My favourite language❤🇭🇺
As a hungarian I find the pronunciation very similar to our language. And after this beautiful song I feel sometimes I want to learn estonian. :D
+Herteroin They are related. Both part of Finno-Ugric languages ;)
+p2tu
Related...related...but we don't understand each other, not even a word, nothing!
I think these are different languages, just having some common originated words. Finnish and Estonian, we clearly see that they are similar, but Hungarian isn't similar to any language.
I searched for text and speech in Hanti, Manysi, Komi, Saami, Udmurt, Buryat, Mordvin languages, and nothing similar, nothing common!
It's old Estonian language. So nothing is what you think it is :D Õllele in this song means õuele aka in our yard or something like it. But in so called new Eatonian Õllele means beer " tule õllele" come drink beer . :D
Only thing you need to know that beer is õlu and vodka is viin :3
Greetings from estonia
I would agree. I know some Estonian (Estonian father-in-law lived with us 8 years) and I've been to Estonia 7 times. If I listen to Hungarian but I'm not really paying attention then it sounds like it could be Estonian. But.... if you pay attention it sounds completely fucking different! 😂😂😂
Haaa... I found my very old translation now and copy it for you, who wants to know, what this is about. :) It´s estonian wicthcraft... :) Thousends of years old musickstyle (called "regilaul"... ), hundreds of years old words... Come, wind and blow away the rain! Blow it to the other lands, that really need rain. Let the rain whip theyr dirt away... With every verse/couplet the same the same idea is repeated with different words. Rain will be sent, blown, pushed to, pushed away fom. :) To Russia, to Turjamaa , to Harjumaa and other countys of Estonia. :) Most important- away from our meadows and hayfields in haymaking time. :) Sorry for my poor english, but I think, you understand now a bit better. :)
+Eve Lannajärv Thank you for posting it ,and the translation is very good .Palju tanu veel kord.
+Eve Lannajärv Perfect, this song will be my prayer here in Northwest Ireland. The weather is terrible, always! I love the whole ideia of the video- if I didnt knew the translation, I thought they're saying something as: Girl, dont run away from Nature, listen to the call of the wild. My philosophy ;)
+Haselfuchs , I have heard at least one more song for pushing rain away from " Laudaukse Kääksutajad"- 100% pure old folksong with alliteration and assonance. :)
In Estonian folklore Turjamaa means Norway. For example it appears in Kalevipoeg. UPD: maybe it isn't the whole Norway, but only Lapland. As well as in Finnish folklore
In finnish there's a name for northernmost Norway as Ruijanmaa which I assume is the same as Turjanmaa. Sami people call it Taarr. I don't know if the sami language name calls for the whole Norway or just the north part. Back enough in history those areas were finno-ugric areas before germanic tribes arrived. For Kalevipoeg; it looks like there's similarities to finnish Kalevala. Do you think they could have something common in origin?
me as an estonian:
goddamnit i love this country so much
It's FUCKING AWESOME! Beautiful language and song. Respect from Venemaa ;)
Привет я из Эстонии но говорю по русски тебе привет из Эстонии
@@lokrem3877 Я русская живущая в Эстонии. И тебе привет!
Greip and VÄGILASED are my two favorite Estonian bands. Thanks to these groups I discovered the beauty of this language. Of course, there is also Finnish. I love it too. Two languages like poetry. As a Turk, I find these languages close to me. I hope in the future I can learn one of the Estonian or Finnish languages. I know it's hard, but nothing is easy. This song is already my favourite. Besides, I'm a very excessive metal man, but I love it.
look up metsatöll then 😉
The video is creepy but this language sounds beautiful
I don't have a clue how I got here, but I love it!! Cheers from Canada.
Greip
I CAN'T STOP LISTENING TO THIS!!!
Elzevir Izegrim me neither :)))
Banyai Peter ME TOO:)))

This is still my favorite video on youtube. Keep singing, beautiful people.
I am planning to go to the Baltic States since I don't know when, but after this video I definitely have to see them. However we are in the same language family I don't know too much about you. But I hope it will change soon ;) Greetings from Hungary
+Márton Biró let me know when you come to Tallinn, I can show you around :)
Hungarian originates from Uralic languages like Finnish and Estonian. Technically, shouldn't be that alien.
Günlük doz yemin ediyom. İ cant stop listening this video. Hello from Turkey:))

Super kenad Eesti neiud. Peab meeldima!

beatiful song greetings from estonia:D
@dan819999 It's in a dialect so in this case "õllele" means "out infront of the home" (compare: modern Estonian "õuele"). The starting lines are: "come, come little wind, little wind, come out infront of the home"
This song is SO amazing. I would say that I love this song in Estonian, but I don't know how :P
