    Kevin sounds like your emus are doing what emus do. Maybe you will get end up with some eggs this winter. That rain that came we got 2 1/2”. That was just in 2 days and boy did we need it our acre and half we have was so dry there were 2” cracks in the ground. We thanked God for that rain and would even take more. Be safe, enjoy your life and God Bless

    This is the time of year for storms to roll through.
    Please consider cleaning out the storm shelter.
    I have found that a hand held vacuum will not stir up the dust like a broom will.
    If you need to take shelter, cleaning out the bugs, dust, spiders & spider webs
    ahead of time will make it more comfortable in the shelter.

    This is exactly what Emus do during mating season. The male chases the female till she sits for him but even after that they will continue to chase the female typically Emus lay 5-15 eggs once she starts. The male will be the one who sets on them taking turns

  • @lindarowlls9619
    @lindarowlls9619 ปีที่แล้ว +36

    Kevin, Emus will bred in the winter months and the females lay between 5 to 15 eggs. They will build a nest on the ground and will line it with grass and leaves. The male will generally sat on the eggs . They will chase the female for up to a month before the actual breading. Good luck.

    Actually the baked bones can be dangerous for dogs because they splinter, raw bones are good for dogs, they have certain enzymes to help their teeth, and they are not brittle, a lot of people feed a raw diet which is completely safe, we used to get certain bones from a butcher for our dogs.

    I'm glad you are finally getting some rain in your area. It is amazing how green the grass still is, especially compared to last year when the grass got crunchy from the drought. I think it is a good possibility that Leeske and Kora ate every bit of the front deer legs you gave them. That is a treat that they don't get all of the time. It is also possible they might have buried some, too.
    I love when Smeegle comes to visit while you're making videos. He is such a great cat and I love hearing him meow from time to time. Mojo must have decided that the chance of a storm or getting wet from the rain outweighed any hunger he might have been feeling at that moment. I know you will go out and feed him later. Take care!

    Incubation period is 50 to 56 days on fertile eggs usually female emus are aggressive with the males until breeding season and then the males becomes a little aggressive with all emus including his mate and the male emu usually in the springtime builds a nest of twigs and stuff for the eggs. According to google
