Konkan Railway charges 40% more, and that makes this Vande Bharat very expensive for such a short journey. On a similar distance including food, it would be 800 rupees while this Vande Bharat CC fare is 1300. I will review this train next week and share more details
Railway should think on this. Simple reason why VB/ Tejas higher class are empty is sheer cost....out of reach of common ppl. VB is reason of detoriating condition of IR where AC is becoming general coach slowly
No. That is not affordability. It is too much priced for CC executive coslier than Air ticket for just day travel. If same CC is run for 24 hours duration between chennai and Mumbai or Mumbai and Kolkatta, occupancy will be 200%. Here implementation of Railways and govt and not the wishes of majority of passengers is happening in VB intro. thanks
You cannot increase the speed with sleeper coaches as the open doors and windows cause a drag which places strain on the locomotive. That is why Railways is replacing sleeper coaches with 3ac which are midway between sleeper and AC coaches. There is a compromise between comfort and affordability.
