I used an entire bag of cold water mix with the bread&honey and only caught one Smallmouth Buffalo at this spot. Was casting to the +10ft portion. Rest were crappies and golden shiners.

Another great bait for the buffalo is night crawlers when you can get them, I was night fishing on the road casting down into the hole, I was catching more on a floater with a 62 inch lead with night crawlers, than the bread on a bottom sinker

Whoopwhoop!!! Hubz n I began playing this game at 11am today. He caught the pickerel first (Rig: Value spin 6.3, #2 hook, 3lb test, #1 spoon) then he caught the spotted bass with the same setup. Lastly, my challenge was to catch the buffalo. I watched several yt vids, they said to use dough balls or mayflies on an oval bobber...epic fail even the location and depth was incorrect (60-68 depth). I found your vid, bought your setup (Rig: Creek Pro Feeder 7.10, 4lb braid, #2 hook, Bait bread w/ honey, open feeder 1/2oz, simple bell, quiver tip 1oz, minispin 800, mono leader .005, and set the white, yellow, red dot to yellow.) I set a marker to the middle of the deep area by the farm fencing and cast the first time and got a nibble catching a blue gill (depth 8.8ft) the next cast resulted in catching a blue gill at the same depth. My third and final cast resulted in an early morning, 10 min fight to land a 2.582lb, 16.729in SMbuffalo!!! Thank you soooooo much for sharing your virtual angler method. Earning 33XP $82, We had a great time together and we will be watching more of your vids...coz your accurate data is much appreciated. KEEP VFISHING!!!

The game is funny like that sometimes. I usually change hours or days. I even turn the game off and back on to reset the fish. Were you able to catch the smallmouth? They did some updates and moved it to another spot as well.
Hey Larry. They nerfed it a bit. Try using semolina and dough balls. Also try turning left in in the same spot and casting past the Lily pads to the right a bit about 100-150 ft. I'm gonna make an updated vid. Lmk if that helps.
Thanks for the video. First time I tried, I had the wrong setup and broke everything on the first cast. Second time i had a 2 lb leader on 4 lb main line. Caught a couple, then got a bigger one,, the line stress meter maxed and the line broke. Watched your video, then put a 5.5 lb leader on the 4 lb line and went crazy. Bread and honey wasn't working that day, probably due to weather or something, so switched to pet food.

Hey boss. Question, so if I use a bigger hook, it should maximize the chances of catching ONLY Buffalo and not shiners right? Like maybe a 2/0, and just a recommendation, I bought some buoy markers so I marked the deepest spot to consistently hit the exact same spot easier. Thanks for the other tips!

Should just be bells. Common or simple bells. If you don't see them, make sure you are not at a lake. Leave the lake and go to the shop on the home screen. You'll find everything there.
I actually fish off the levee against the fence and can reach almost every deep hole and it was there that i actually finally caught the first small mouth buffalo. Quickly

Also to anybody else you can go above where the fence is and only have to cast about 50 feet and I used a normal bobber and the bread with honey at what you said 9 feet and looked at that deepest spot out a marker down and caught one on third cast awesome video thank you again!

You can fish on the road you can put your rod stand through the fence and you can get literally 50 feet from that spot and I use it in all the time

Most likely your hook size. Try a size #1 hook.

Try different bait. Sometimes the game will act funny until you find that right bait.
tried that spot a lot but only one buffalo took a bite..man they hard to find..
Ah man. That stinks. Well try switching up bait, times, smaller hooks. Sometimes that helps.
I do the same thing but straight slow and at about 30ft I get a bite almost every time

heres my trick for lonestar i use casting spoons for pickerel and small minnows for spot bass and small cut bait for channel cat fish

You can try repositioning around the lake. Just try to hit the spot from another location.
On top of the dam, use your map to live yourself up...once you get your position set up, you'll need to cast out about 48 to 50 ft.

Doing the same set up besides the pole at the same spot, and can only catch shiners... what depth are you at ?
Using the feeder, I try to hit the deepest points. 8-13ft
