Hello, thank you for this very helpful video. I have a question. You mentioned at 2:49 "if you're still in the middle of a semester...withdraw from the next semester while you have to finish the current study." I actually talked to my immigration attorney the other day, and he told me it's okay to withdraw from the current semester after Oct 1 (after my H1b is activated.) Are you aware of an instance where withdrawing from the current semester had a negative effect on future GC applications or H1b transfer or the relevant law? Thank you.
This can get technical with the timeline. I would not advice to withdraw in the middle of a semester, even though you don't need a CPT for work anymore after H1B activated. I personally think is safer to at least finish the current semester.
@@day1cptyour personal opinion is worth crap bro, why are you fear mongering without any credible information about that. When its clearly said that the immigration attorney said there would not be a problem. 🤦🏻♂️
I was wondering if you have the freedom to change jobs on a day1 cpt or will companies hire on a day1 cpt. What happens when you're laid off on a day1 cpt do you have a set period of days to find the employement.
Depending on the programs. But for majority, yes you can change jobs and apply for a different cpt authorization. When you got laid off, most universities let you remain to be a student for a period of time until you find another job. That could be ranging from 3 months to several semesters.
Thanks for the infos super helpful
